DANA Bisnis Records Digitalization in More Than 1.000 Villages throughout Indonesia

The micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector has a large role in the Indonesian economy. This sector has proven to be able to survive in a number of crisis conditions that hit this country, including now, when the Covid-19 pandemic caused the economy to slow down. Data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs shows that the contribution of MSMEs to the national gross domestic product (GDP) exceeds 60% in 2020. Nevertheless, MSMEs still face a number of challenges to be able to grow and be competitive, including those related to access to financing, market access and promotion, difficulties raw materials, to human resource (HR) capability issues.

One way to increase the capacity and competitiveness of MSMEs in the midst of such rapid dynamics is to encourage them to be integrated with the digital economy ecosystem. By being connected to the digital ecosystem, MSMEs have greater opportunities for access to finance and markets while at the same time increasing their HR capabilities through the use of available technology. Therefore, digital transformation is a necessity for MSMEs to be able to grow and be competitive in this fast and dynamic technological era.

DANA, as an Indonesian digital wallet whose mission is to make financial technology more inclusive, realizes how important it is for MSMEs to go digital. Therefore, DANA is committed to continuing to encourage business actors, especially MSMEs, to adopt digital technology. This commitment is realized through the DANA Bisnis feature which is continuously developed and updated to help MSMEs develop their businesses in various conditions.

"MSMEs as one of the pillars of the national economy need to be strengthened to be able to face challenges in the present and in the future. Digital transformation is a solution for business actors including MSMEs to be able to adapt to the dynamics that are happening. Through DANA Bisnis, we are committed and continue to encourage MSMEs to adopt digital technology, not only in terms of digital processes   which is easy, safe and comfortable, but also by accompanying them through education and training and promoting them. During the pandemic, we will continue to provide assistance and training virtually so that the absorption of digital financial literacy runs optimally. As a result, the number of DANA Bisnis MSME partners who have been digitalized is growing and their digital financial literacy has also strengthened," he said Vince Iswara, CEO and Co-Founder of DANA.

The number of partners and transactions continues to grow

DANA Bisnis, which was launched in 2019, is a feature aimed at business owners who own businesses online nor offline. With DANA Bisnis, businesses can receive payments via various types of digital wallets that have QRIS without transaction fees, making it easier for consumers. This integration also signifies that DANA is connected to more than 8 million QRIS merchants throughout Indonesia.

Another advantage is that DANA Bisnis partners can receive payments or withdraw funds directly (real-time) or obtain the latest transaction report. In addition, the visibility of MSMEs is made easier by the presence of the 'Nearby' feature in the DANA application. By activating the 'Nearby' feature, users can find out directly about DANA Bisnis partners around their location.

Since its launch, the number of DANA Bisnis users has continued to grow and has now exceeded 300.000 partners spread across all provinces in Indonesia. This number has increased compared to last year which was around 200.000 partners.

In general, business partners have also recorded an increase in transactions since using DANA Bisnis. Meanwhile the number of active partners in August 2021 increased 133% (year-on-year) compared to August last year.

In fact, based on DANA records, as of September 2021, more than 1.100 new villages have been digitized by DANA through the DANA Bisnis feature.

New feature 'Product Catalog'

In order to encourage business progress for its partners in the midst of increasingly fierce digital business competition, the latest DANA Bisnis feature allows users who are business actors to create product catalogs in the DANA application, just like in marketplace. DANA Bisnis partners can display up to 15 products in their catalog and send them as links to potential buyers to make it easier for buyers to choose the right product.
