Yonder Music Announces Its Presence in Indonesia

The Yonder Indonesia team has been disbanded, now it is currently being held directly by the head office

Music streaming app yonder back in Indonesia after the closure of its services for almost two months. Yonder is now looking for new partners to develop its services.

Yonder Southeast Asia VP and Country Manager, Jake Denney, said that Yonder's return was the team's real commitment to taking Indonesia's business potential seriously and wanting to continue working with its local partners. Not only with telecommunications companies, but also with record labels and musicians. Because, without them, according to him, Yonder is just an application that is not useful enough, even though it has a nice and intuitive interface.

"We are relaunching to build, and rebuild commercial partnerships in our six regions - including Indonesia. We are currently exploring all opportunities in the market," Denney explained to DailySocial, Thursday (7/6).

The announcement of the closure of the service that Yonder chose had a direct impact on the partnership the company had built over the past two years, which had to be broken and needed to be rebuilt from scratch.

Now the Yonder application can be downloaded and accessed by all smartphone users from provider anywhere, with no ads or subscription prompts. Previously, Yonder could only be operated through the XL Axiata network thanks to the exclusive collaboration between the two companies.

Nevertheless, his party really appreciates all the efforts that have been built since the beginning between Yonder and XL Axiata, from the top management to the lower levels. It's rare to find a team so dedicated to completing a mission.

When Denney was appointed to lead the Southeast Asian market last year, Yonder claimed to have succeeded in increasing its active user base with a growth of more than 500%. This was triggered by TVC's commercial campaign in collaboration with well-known directors.

Impact of business closures and future plans

Not only had to build a partnership from scratch, the sudden news also made the local team Yonder Indonesia also disbanded. Now the management of Yonder's business is temporarily handled by Yonder's core team located at its head office in New York. They consist of 10 people and two people working remote.

In addition, Yonder users also expressed feelings of disappointment. Many of them shared their feelings on Yonder's social media page. During his presence in Indonesia, Yonder regularly held more than 40 large-scale concerts for free with a capacity of 10 thousand to 20 thousand spectators. They can see their favorite artists live for free.

"Exactly 60 days after us live Again, the majority of our listeners are on the XL network and still have our app on their phones, wish we could come back. We see there demand who want our presence because what we do is not done by other players."

In the near future, it will introduce a number of new features in Yonder version 3.0 releasing the latest features. But Denney is not willing to detail what is in it. The presence of this feature is expected to be one of Yonder's new strategies to boost user numbers.

Yonder is committed to continuously curating content from playlists, popular songs, without being distracted by ads, and no subscription fees. It is claimed that all of these features are well known by Yonder users so far.

"Not only that, we will establish a long-term commercial partnership as soon as possible, so that we can return to doing what is best, providing the best music solutions and experiences for Indonesia," concluded Denney.
