Venturra Discovery Starts Exploring Startup Investments in the Philippines

Starting with his involvement in Podcast Network Asia funding

After the end of last year Venturra Discovery aggressively took aim startup investment in Vietnam, in early 2021 they are trying to expand their investment range again. Starting with his involvement in the early-stage funding of a startup from the Philippines, Podcast Network Asia (PNA) worth $750 thousand.

To DailySocial, Venturra Discovery Partner Raditya Pramana said, the Philippines is a country that has many unique features. Not only the population is large, but demographically the population is relatively young, buying power also increasing.

"Culturally, the Philippines is heavily influenced by American culture. Content podcast which are already plentiful and of high quality in America, are becoming popular in the Philippines and that is why the podcast industry there can develop ahead of other Southeast Asian countries."

Raditya further said that now is the right time for Venturra Discovery to enter this new industry. He said he was very interested in the industry podcast which is growing rapidly globally.

In the past year, the number of creators podcast and listeners in Southeast Asia are skyrocketing, particularly in Indonesia and the Philippines. Especially during the Covid-19 period, everyone is working from home, increasing the number of listeners.

"Podcast currently still in its infancy in Southeast Asia. When we see podcast with the top charts, most of which were released in the past year. The industry has strong momentum, because the platform streaming audio duplicate this segment. We believe we can empower creators to improve and commercialize their content through data analysis and production support," said Raditya.

It's not only in Indonesia that started experiencing growth in the number of creatorspodcast, In the Philippines, it turns out that there are currently more platforms podcast which offers diverse content to target users. During the pandemic, PNA claims to have grown to 93 shows currently, with 4 exclusive events on Spotify.

The company will also leverage Podmetrics.co, PNA data analytics and marketplace advertising, to serve and provide monetization opportunities to the global podcast market. Currently, there are 415 podcast who use the platform, however, with the launch of the Podmetrics Marketplace, this number is expected to continue to grow.

This funding is also planned to be used by PNA to expand outside the Philippines. Countries such as Indonesia and Thailand to Malaysia then became targets for further expansion of the PNA area.
