Tokopedia and Shopee are indeed competing in increasing their popularity in Indonesia. E-commerce this too be top of mind in society. Different from E-commerce founded by Ahmad Zacky, Bukalapak dropped to third place. Based on these data, it can be seen that the strategy implemented by Bukalapak at that time was still not competitive enough to be defeated by E-commerce new, namely Shopee.

Continuing in the 4th quarter of 2020, Shopee was still able to maintain its position from its main rival, namely Tokopedia. It seems that even this year, Tokopedia has not been able to win a position in this website visitor category. Meanwhile, Bukalapak is still stagnant in third place. 

One year later, there was a quite unique change in this ranking. E-commerce which was founded by William Tanuwijaya (Tokopedia) managed to regain its position at number one. And at this time too, Shopee was in second place because it was unable to compete with Tokopedia. Meanwhile, it is unfortunate that Bukalapak's popularity in this category is declining. At that time, the third position of Bukalapak was taken by e-commerce which was established in 2012, namely Lazada. And in the end, TOP 3 E-commerce in Indonesia changed to this category and is controlled by Tokopedia, Shopee, and Lazada. And until the 2nd quarter of 2021, the top 3 positions are still the same and there is no change, and Bukalapak is still in 4th position.

Looking at it from Bukalapak's side, compared to E-commerce On the other hand, the trend of visitors to the Bukalapak website continues to decline. Starting from the 4th quarter of 2018 to the 2nd quarter of 2021, the number of visitors to the Bukalapak website, which was initially 116 million, decreased to 21 million. It is very unfortunate considering that Bukalapak has received the “Best Company to Work For” award by the Asia Awards in 2021.
