Stockbit and Fullerton Collaborate to Acquire Asset Management Company Ayers Asia

Through this acquisition, the two companies can encourage the penetration of investment products in Indonesia

Platform wealthtech PT Stockbit Sekuritas Digital (Stockbit) and Fullerton Fund Management Company Ltd. (Fullerton) announced a strategic partnership to acquire investment management firm PT Ayers Asia Asset Management (Ayers Asia). The transaction value of this strategic action was not mentioned.

Through this acquisition, the two companies will collaborate with each other to develop and distribute investment products in Indonesia, which is one of the dynamic markets in the Southeast Asian region.

Stockbit Co-Founder and CEO Sigit Kouwagam assessed that Fullerton has a strong business record to provide profitable solutions for investors in Indonesia. "We are delighted to be partnering with Fullerton with expertise and a deep focus on investment and risk management," he said in an official statement.

Meanwhile, CEO of Fullerton Fund Management Jenny Sofian admitted that he was enthusiastic about expanding his market to Indonesia through Stockbit. "Their ambition to develop investment solutions that can be reached more widely, complements our commitment to offering services that suit the needs of this dynamic market," he said.

Previously, Stockbit acquired the platform marketplace mutual funds Seeds in 2019. The acquisition was carried out to capture the potential of mutual fund investors from all groups, especially millennials.

Investor growth

Based on data from the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), the number of capital market investors in Indonesia grew by 38% (YoY) to 10,3 million last year compared to the previous 7,49 million investors in 2021. This increase was driven by the easier way for investors to invest. .
