SIKAD, SaaS Product for School Administration

Starting from assessment services, school administration, libraries, to staffing

SIKAD (Academic System) is a SaaS-based product developed to assist education management in schools. This service is served through a web platform, with the hope that it can be accessed anywhere and through any device. The main function of SIKAD is to assist administrative processes in various divisional lines in the school, from assisting teachers in managing grades, to assisting administrative staff to manage cash flow.

Currently there are many features that are accommodated by SIKAD, including digital report cards, new student registration systems, counseling guidance services, administrative administration, library systems, to the latest teacher performance appraisal system. One of the commitments emphasized by SIKAD is that the system will always be updated with existing regulations. This is because the rules in the world of education -- for example the curriculum -- are very dynamic.

SIKAD was developed by two brothers, Zainal Abidin and Hasan Al Rasyid. Zainal was previously an ICT teacher at a school in Bogor. Meanwhile, his younger brother is an ITB graduate who is currently completing his doctoral studies at the University of Kanazawa, Japan. Currently SIKAD is in fundraising Step seed stages. For the last three months, SIKAD has just joined the program GnB Accelerator.

In the world of education in Indonesia, the challenges are unique, ranging from ownership of devices, internet access, to available human resources. Zainal is well aware of the challenge.

“SIKAD understands the obstacles mentioned. Moreover, SIKAD is directly used by teachers and education staff, whose age background is very varied. That is also the basis of SIKAD in developing applications, we strive to make applications that are intuitive with a process that is not too difficult to use, shows that technology should not be complicated, and produces accurate and fast output with minimal effort.”

SIKAD's marketing strategy is not sold directly to schools, but through the District and City Education Offices. What SIKAD offers to its target market is effectiveness. It is hoped that with the implementation of this digital system, it will be easier for offices and schools in the area to carry out education administration. Local governments can take any policy more accurately and quickly.

"We have various types of modules and features, ranging from PPDB Online, Certification, to infrastructure that will greatly assist the Education Office in its supervisory and coaching functions," continued Zainal.

The target for the future is that SIKAD wants to focus on building partnerships with relevant government agencies in a wider area. Especially to support smart city initiatives in the field of education.
