Solutions for shipping large goods and cargo are considered more promising in terms of profit and investment

Logistics service on-demand Deliveree announced the achievement of series A funding of US$14,5 million (equivalent to 196 billion rupiah) led by Gobi Partners. PSA Unboxed, Asia Summit Capital, and Inspire Ventures also participated in this round of funding. This Series A investor adds to the previous row of investors, Inspire Ventures and Ardent Capital.

In relation to this funding, Deliveree Co-Founder and CEO Tom Kim emphasized on DailySocial, that funding Deliveree is about expansion. His party is currently preparing plans to open operations to several cities and countries in Southeast Asia. It was also stated that Indonesia would be the most influential, considering that Indonesia is the largest market share compared to 2 other countries (Thailand and the Philippines).

“Deliveree has now been downloaded by more than 350 users on Facebook mobile -- Total Deliveree app for Indonesia, Thailand, and Transportify app for Philippines. Plus, Deliveree also has customers who are actively making deliveries via the web platform. So, in total, there are a total of around 500 thousand subscribers, ranging from less active to very active,” said Tom.

In Indonesia, the latest innovation presented is Engkel Box launch (CDE) with a capacity of 2 tons for delivery throughout Greater Jakarta. In the future, Deliveree plans to bring Double Engkel trucks (CDD trucks), including other larger commercial fleets and expand to other cities in Indonesia next year.

“Moreover, we are also developing an exciting new technology, which will make Deliveree an irreplaceable logistics partner for cost-efficient road deliveries,” continued Tom.

Focus on investment and profit

Over the past few years, investing in shipping for small packages, and to the end consumer (last mile) more and more as business increases E-commerce in South East Asia. However, this sector is considered less potential from an economic point of view. For this reason, Deliveree is more focused on providing solutions for large-sized goods and cargo shipments faced by business people. Deliveree believes this is much more profitable in terms of investment and profit.

“Logistics of cargo and large goods occur in distribution mid-mile. Marketplace Deliveree combines more than 15 thousand trucks, vans, pickups, and economy fleets throughout Southeast Asia, and serve thousands of customers who do mid-mile distribution every day, including large corporations, brand, and logistics companies,” explained Tom.

Launched in 2015, Deliveree aims to revolutionize business owners to deliver large packages, merchandise and cargo across Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila. Platforms mobile devices and webapp Deliveree gives companies access to thousands of commercial vehicle drivers with different models pay-as-you-go. This model is considered to be able to reduce shipping costs by up to 50%.
