Eragano's Plan, Join Hands, Kostoom, WeCare After Joining the "Remake City Jakarta" Accelerator

The majority of the initial funding raised is used to create applications and product development

Eragano, Hand in Hand, Kostoom, WeCare have completed the Remake City Jakarta Batch 2 accelerator program for five months. On the way, the four startups admitted that they were ready to be more expansive thanks to the provision of a series of coaching from mentors and the grants they have received.

Remake City is an accelerator program initiated by Crevisse Partners from South Korea, focusing on solving social problems through innovative businesses. Remake City Jakarta This is the second time it has been held since 2017. Not only in Jakarta, Remake City will also be held in Seoul and Hanoi.

In Indonesia, Crevisse Partners cooperates with UnLtd Indonesia and Instellar in the implementation. Also collaborating with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Merry Year Social Company (MYSC).

"Nowadays, many startups have appeared and many have designed their startups to solve social problems. This program is here to encourage their business to be more sustainable with various supplies from us," said CEO of Instellar Romy Cahyadi, Wednesday (30/1).

In this second batch, as many as 30 startups registered themselves. Then it is filtered into only four startups that are ready to be fostered for five months of assistance. The four startups received a grant of US$25 thousand each from KOICA which can be used for their business development.

After that, there will be further pre-series A funding from Crevisse Partners for one of the four startups. However, according to Romy, it has not been determined who has the right because investors are waiting for traction after the Jakarta Remake City officially ends.

"Usually it takes two to three months for Crevisse Partners to determine who is eligible follow-up investment because they want to see how the business traction is."

On batch First, the startup that received funding from Crevisse Partners was Crowde, a startup engaged in the fintech lending to the agricultural industry.

Next plan four startups

In a meeting with a number of media, the four startups shared their views and next plans after participating in the Remake City Jakarta accelerator program. CEO Eragano Stephanie Jesselyn said that during the program her party developed a Theory of Change model that could be applied to their business and to find out more about the social impact of pilot project which is being worked on.

Even Stephanie said that her party was preparing plans to export farmers' crops to Sri Lanka, the Philippines and the United States. Also expanding its business to Myanmar, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

"Our target is in three years, we can attract 10-20% of farmers in Indonesia and can open our business, maybe the closest is Myanmar," he said.

Eragano is a financial platform and marketplace integrated for small farmers. There are 5 thousand farmers who are helped by Eragano's services out of a total of 300 thousand registered farmers on the Eragano platform.

CEO Hold Hands Bethany Jezamine Setiawan admitted that the company was greatly helped by the mentoring and grants it received. The Hand in Hand application is being processed to make it easier for users to hook up, it was present in November 2018.

The next development, overhauling the appearance of the site to make it more attractive, the development of a referral program, and a guide for borrower assistance.

"This application is really needed to make it easier for our agents and users to access Hand in Hand without having to open the site again," said Jezammine.

Hand in Hand has been officially established since early 2017. Its core business is service p2p loans for micro-enterprises. There are 1.300 borrowers, and 11.800 lenders registered with Gandeng Hand, disbursing loans of around IDR 5 billion.

The next startup is costume, connecting customers and fashion businesses with home tailors through the platform. Kostoom CEO Putry Yuliastutik said it was helpful for him to be able to develop a new core system that could overshadow existing and future services. Also the launch of a new service, namely the supply of convection materials and a photo studio to assist users in marketing.

"Before receiving grants, we always used organic marketing with the available funds. Now we will start aggressively advertising and overhauling the appearance of the site," said Putry.

Last is WeCare, a startup engaged in the through crowdfunding for patients who are underprivileged and need medical assistance. WeCare Co-Founder, CEO & CTO Gigih Septianto said thanks to Remake CIty, his party was able to do product fit for the Sehati membership program and O2O marketing strategy.

Just like Hand in Hand, WeCare finally has an app and site update with additional features like a wellness marketplace.

"This application is very crucial for the development of our business because it makes it easier for users to access WeCare," said Gigih.

Now WeCare has disbursed more than Rp5,1 billion in financing for 400 patients. They are spread in 15 provinces throughout Indonesia. The number of users who are members of WeCare is 12.610 people.
