Google Indonesia Launches "Bangkit", Free Advanced Programming Education Program

Focus on machine learning, targeting 300 participants in Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Denpasar, and Yogyakarta

Aims to add more digital talents who have advanced programming skills, Google Indonesia launched the "Rise" program. This initiative can be enjoyed free of charge by the people of Indonesia who want to increase their competence in the field of programming and programming machine learning.

To DailySocial, Managing Director of Google Indonesia, Randy Jusuf, said that this pilot program was launched based on input from the government and other related parties who wanted more participation from companies to produce quality digital talents.

"Especially for the Bangkit program, we target those who already have programming skills, coding, to math. All training will be conducted in English, supported by subject matter up to mentor quality."

For those who are interested in joining the Bagkit program, they can register through the platform Grow with Google. After going through the recruitment process and interview, participants who successfully pass will follow the program for 6 months for free.

For the first phase, the new Bangkit program was held in cities such as Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Denpasar. Collaborating with startups unicorn Indonesia such as Tokopedia, Traveloka, and Gojek. The target is to recruit 300 participants.

"Our reason for focusing on machine learning because Google has implemented a lot of these technologies and now many startups have started to apply technologies that are classified as very advanced advance this. Besides technical skills We will also provide training soft skill as leadership to critical thinking for the participants," said Randy.

Take advantage of the momentum

Asked whether this program was launched in conjunction with the inauguration of Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education and Culture, Randy emphasized that this program had previously been Google Indonesia's plan. Previously, Google Indonesia has also provided training to SME business owners such as Gapura Digital and Women Will for women. Google Indonesia claims that so far it has trained around 1,6 million people in Indonesia.

To ensure this program runs smoothly and on target, later Google will also present well-known mentors from Google itself. Professional mentors from Google Asia Pacific are ready to help participants in the Bangkit program.

"In the end, participants who have completed the Bangkit program can work in technology companies to startups in Indonesia. They can also build their own startups using the lessons learned from the program. If they meet the criteria, they can also join Google Indonesia ," said Google Asia Pacific Head of Education Programs William Florance.

Asked whether Indonesian talent is ready and has good ability to improve skill set them, William confirmed that there had been many para programmer who work in technology companies to startups unicorn Indonesia, which has above average abilities.
