PowerBrain Indonesia Chosen as Winner of UKode Hackathon 2021

PowerBrain Indonesia brings innovation in the form of Smart Energy Management System

After a series of virtual hackathon events from the UKode Hackathon 2021 competition. After going through the judging process today (17/03), Ukode Hackathon 2021 officially announced the PowerBrain Indonesia team as the main winner of the digital product innovation event.

Previously, the competition, which was predicted to create digital product innovations for the issue of climate change, had first selected 5 (five) finalists who were competing tightly. The judging process was also carried out, assisted by well-known judges from the country's technology industry such as; Atika Benedicta - Impact Investment Lead ANGIN, Kelvin Wijaya - CCTO TaniHub, Stella Tambunan - CEO YCAB Ventures, Sofian Hadiwijaya - CTO WarungPintar, together with representatives of the United Kingdom Embassy - Yonathan Wijaya, and also Okkie Nikijuluw - Head of UK-Indonesia Tech Hubs. The six judges agreed that PowerBrain Indonesia should be the main winner of the UKode Hackathon 2021 competition.

Overview of the profile of PowerBrain Indonesia. Departing from the issue of the importance of managing energy resources for industry and MSMEs, the PowerBrain Indonesia team built Smart energy management (WITHOUT) System which offers energy management solutions based on the latest technology. The solutions offered are in the form of cloud technology development, which is integrated with devices Internet of Things (IoT) to monitor energy consumption which is often the cause of inefficiency for business actors. 

In his presentation, PowerBrain Indonesia plans to develop applications mobile devices which can be used to monitor the energy consumption of a place of business real-time. The data presented is taken from the IoT device sensors, and then sent directly to the user. The team, which was founded by Irvan Farasatha as CEO, Riwanu Lukman - CMO, and Fariz Azmi as VP Engineering, designed a business model that is quite friendly among entrepreneurs. In his presentation, he stated, the customer-based business model is considered the most suitable for various industries ranging from small, medium, and even large scale. The price installed is quite affordable, PowerBrain Indonesia sets a subscription fee of 349 thousand rupiah for a restaurant business, and 399 thousand rupiah for a mini market.

Okkie Nikijuluw as Head of UK-Indonesia Tech Hub who was also included in the judging panel said that the UKode Hackathon 2021 event is expected to encourage more digital talents to think of innovative technological solutions in overcoming problems related to climate change.

“Hopefully the winners of UKode Hackathon 2021 can develop their business and also raise awareness in Indonesia that climate change is real and is happening. Only we can make changes for our future, "He said.
