Parkee Invests in Alfabeta, AI & IoT Solution Developer Startup

Centrepark Citra Corpora through its subsidiary which is a parking management application developer Parkee, invested in an AI and IoT technology solution developer startup called Alfabeta. No mention of the amount of investment given. This partnership opens up opportunities for collaboration between the two companies in business development, including building an AI-based parking system.

Alphabet established since 2018, one of the products developed is intelligent video analytics which can be implemented in various business sectors. While Parkee debuted since 2019 with the service mobile app reporting, and an integrated parking management support system.

Parkee has been used in various parking locations in 50 cities in Indonesia, from Jakarta, Tangerang, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan, Batam, to Semarang.

“We want to create onestop-solution for our clients, such as malls, airports, seaports, so it includes various identification data, both vehicles and users. This technology will continue to grow,” said Director of Centerpark Citra Corpora Charles Richard Oentomo.

Meanwhile, Alfabeta CEO Taufiq Wibowo explained that the background of this collaboration was because his party had a number of technologies that were ready to support Parkee.

“We see the need for technology is quite large in the same industry as Parkee, plus we also have many technologies, such as Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR); Vehicle Detection, Counting & Tracking; to Object Detection, Counting, & Tracking," said Taufiq.

Apart from Parkee, a number of companies are also working on parking management services, one of which is Soul Parking. Not only parking management software, startups that received initial funding from AC Ventures and a number of angel investors it also developed the Compact Motorcycle Storage module, a portable parking pouch for bicycles. Telkomsel also had time to create a business unit called park, developing SaaS services for in-building parking management.

The presence of Alfabeta is certainly expected to add to Parkee's value proposition. Apart from expanding payment options, feature refresh is also one of their focuses.

Alphabet Technology

ANPR can detect the Motor Vehicle Number Plate (TNKB) and register the results automatically into the user database. Meanwhile, Vehicle Detection, Counting, & Tracking is a technology that detects the type of passing vehicle, counts the number, and tracks the path passed. While Object Detection, Counting, & Tracking detects the presence & movement, and counts the number of objects that are within the camera's range.

This technology not only provides benefits for building managers, but also for parking users, namely optimal security. Every incoming vehicle will be detected starting from the number plate, type, logo and even the color of the vehicle. So, if there is an attempt to change the license plate number in the parking area, it can be detected immediately.

"When the data is verified and the results are the same, then the system will automatically let the vehicle out. If it can't, then the system will give warning alarm and will tell security the place. So users will certainly feel safe," said Charles.

Another advantage, users do not have to bother preparing cash for payment. Every transaction will be directly connected through the application on smartphone users, payments can also be made via QRIS and e-wallet for the sake of practicality
