Reaching One Million Users, OONA Indonesia Adds Local and Foreign Content on the Platform

Targeting two million users by the end of 2018, already has 150 foreign and local channels

A mobile application that presents television shows and video on demand (VOD) for free, OONA, today announced its achievements after officially launching the app on the Apps Store and Play Store. To the media, Metranet CEO Widi Nugroho revealed, OONA has now been downloaded by one million people and 75% are active users per month.

To enrich the content on the platform, OONA claims to have 150 local and foreign television broadcast channels as well as a number of advertising partners, mostly from FMCG. Prioritizing the concept of free television shows and VOD to users, OONA has a rewards program in the form of tcoins which is claimed to be quite attractive to OONA users. Choice of products that can be exchanged for tcoins including vouchers from Blanja, discounts at Zalora, vouchers from Ralali, Happyfresh, and many more.

"Unlike other OTT and VOD services, OONA for free provides the opportunity for users to enjoy the impressions and choose the ads they want. If they are interested they can be clicked and then viewed the ad, but if they are not interested, the ads that appear above can be ignored," said Widi .

The ad that the user clicks on will then generate coins that the user can redeem through merchants who join OONA. Concepts like this are claimed to be able to create new choices for users, while brand and advertisers can take advantage of this opportunity to advertise. OONA is also equipped with a chatbot "Siskabot" and programmatic advertising.

Aiming for two million users by the end of the year

Metranet has a three-year contract with OONA. The target is that by the end of this year OONA can increase the number of users to 2 million people.

"For us from OONA, of course, if this collaboration is profitable, we will continue. The technology we have is enough to help Telkom, in this case Mentranet, to present interesting content, both VOD shows and television shows," said President Director of OONA Indonesia Noerman Taufik.

In the near future OONA will cooperate with Telkomsel provide product bundling VideoMax Telkomsel. OONA will also cooperate with other Telkom Group products such as WIFI.ID.

"It is hoped that the OONA concept can provide an alternative for television stations for Go Digital, while brands can increase their choice of marketing activities by advertising on OONA," said Widi.
