Through Technology, Newman's Sells Men's Hair Care Services

Founded at the end of 2019,Newman's focus on presenting the product healthcare special scalp and hair care for men. In addition, they also offer consulting services to treatment by doctors.

To DailySocial, Newman's Co-Founder Anthony Suryaputra revealed that many men encounter hair problems, not only in elderly men, but also in their 20s. In developing this business, Anthony was assisted by two co-founder others, namely Alfred Ali and Elsen Wiraatmadja.

"Since we launched Newman's platform, the response we have received has been quite enthusiastic from the target market. Within a few weeks we saw positive growth in sales. At the same time we also continue to educate customers about our brand and the products we offer."

In contrast to similar products and services that are mostly still run conventionally, Newman's claims to have implemented technology in all aspects of what they offer. From payment options to shipping--delivered directly with internal teams or third-party logistics.

"We only take a commission when the product has been successfully purchased, or if a transaction occurs on the platform," said Anthony.

The service can be accessed through the website. Newman's also has 15 doctor partners throughout Indonesia, who are ready to serve user consultation. Currently the company is also recruiting more doctors. Newman's targets to be able to serve 10-15 customers through the platform every day.

Focus on scalp care

Although on the website it says Newman's has three products for men such as Hair Loss, Erectile Dysfunction and Smoking Cessation; For now, Newman's is still focusing on hair care or Hair Loss. The other two new products will be launched to the public in the near future.

"Newman's has been present throughout Indonesia and is ready to offer products to target customers who need services with online transactions," said Anthony.

The high price of hair care products in Indonesia is expected to be an option for customers to take advantage of Newman's products. For products sold by Newman's, prices start from Rp. 54 thousand to Rp. 500 thousand. Newman's also cut the cost of consulting doctors, which usually cost a lot of money. Only through the platform all these questions can be enjoyed free of charge for all customers.

In order to accelerate business, the company has also just joined the Y Combinator program for the Winter 2020 session. The startup, which is now on the EverHause portfolio list, has also received pre seed worth US$150.000 or equivalent to 2,1 billion Rupiah.

Asked what Newman's plans are to do after getting the fresh funds, Anthony said that the investment funds will be used to acquire more customers, increase the number of teams and increase the choice of service categories.

"As the first platform to provide clinics for men, we leverage technology to help our customers get access to funds for doctor services to better care. No longer do they spend time doing direct consultations with doctors, now our customers can enjoy access only on their cellphones to all the care to the products delivered to their homes," said Anthony.
