Net1 Wireless Internet Provider Confirms Bali Island Presence

This year the focus is on migrating CDMA users to 4G/LTE

After transforming from brand Happy to be Net1 After the presence of the Scandinavian company AINMT, Sampoerna Telekomunikasi Indonesia (STI) continues to expand and expand its reach. The last one is the inclusion of 4G/LTE 450 MHz wireless services to the island of Bali. They have also been present in Serang, Ambon, Makassar, and Lombok.

''Bali is a province that supports the nation's economy through its tourism industry. The growth of the industry that increasingly stimulates the local economy is what makes us a strong commitment to Bali," said Larry Ridwan, CEO of STI.

Based on data from APJII in 2016, it is stated that the penetration of internet users on the island of Bali and West Nusa Tenggara reached nearly 6,2 million people.

Their focus in Bali is to help Ceria users migrate to use 4G/LTE 450 MHz technology which is now the mainstay of Net1. This migration process is expected to last until the end of the year.

STI, according to Larry, will maximize Net1 access so that it can reach all areas of Bali, from Gilimanuk to the eastern tip of Gili Selang.

It was stated that Net1's focus in various regions was to move all of its customers from CDMA users to 4G/LTE service users by the end of this year. Apart from Net1, Smartfren is an Indonesian CDMA operator that has survived and switched to using 4G/LTE technology.

Next year, Net1 will step on the road to commercialize its 4G/LTE services, including entering the B2B market by offering connectivity for Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Two weeks ago Net1 cooperates with INTI for the development of this solution.
