Get to know "LoveCare", the Health Professional Services Marketplace Platform

Currently there are 200 partners spread across more than 50 cities and regencies in Indonesia

Services homecare or health services at home has increased quite rapidly in recent times. Home care considered to provide more convenience for people with certain medical conditions to get health care without the need to go to the hospital. This service is considered to be able to help improve the health of people who have economic limitations for hospitalization costs.

The need for nurses is always there, but in reality it is not easy to get the right nurses and have the right capacity. This became the initial idea he developed LoveCare, a marketplace providing the services of health professionals, such as nurses, caregiverand Babysitter.

This platform was born from the personal experience of founder, as well as a desire to serve and make a difference in the healthcare sector.

"I was inspired when I first recognized the word palliative, namely quality of life services for terminal patients who not only need medical treatment but they need holistic services that use the heart," said Veronica Tan, one of the Founders of LoveCare.

Win the UN Women Care Accelerator

Established in 2019, this application has become a platform that has a real impact on Indonesian families by connecting and matching medical and non-medical service providers with service users based on their needs, location, and preferences in a safe, fast, and convenient way. LoveCare also won the UN Women Care Accelerator in 2021.

“The team at Lovecare and I wanted to create a business that not only solves problem, make a profit, but also this business must be able to contribute to society. It is in the form of opening up employment opportunities with well-educated and well-trained mental workers and human resources," added Veronica.

In carrying out this service, LoveCare also has several challenges such as thorough curation to be able to provide suitable nurses considering that they will carry out vital tasks in an effort to manage the quality of family life. In addition, each customer has different needs and preferences, ranging from medical and non-medical, as well as duration.

"There are also those who want workers (nurses) to master certain competencies, including preferences for gender, age and a certain budget. On the other hand, each partner officer is unique, has different competencies, work preferences and backgrounds. In the past we had to be one "One by one check and ask partners and confirm back and forth with customers. It is very inefficient," added CEO & CTO of LoveCare Susan.

To overcome this challenge, LoveCare combines the concepts of standardization and personalization to provide the right offering. There is a standardization of the recruitment process for partners in terms of their competence, location preference and timeframe, as well as level and fee-his. Users of this service will automatically receive recommendations according to their needs when ordering through the application.

In terms of curation, there are three important factors that LoveCare partners must possess, namely Competence, Mental, and Heart (KOMET). There are thousands of medical and non-medical service personnel from various parts of Indonesia who register to become LoveCare partners, but only 20% pass the test. Currently there are 200 partners spread across more than 50 cities and regencies of Indonesia consisting of, caregiver around 40%, nurses 30%, babysitters 7%, and the rest are doctors, midwives, and therapists.

This platform also provides additional training programs for partners caregiver who want to improve their competence. In addition to basic competence in caring for clients, other knowledge such as hospitality, service excellence, and communication is also the material of this program.

Through its vision and mission, LoveCare wants to continue to grow to be marketplace trusted for Indonesian families to connect with nurses, caregiver, doctor, and Babysitter locally via the app. LoveCare is committed to providing all employees and partners with equal opportunities for success, regardless of their gender and helping them learn and develop professionally.

Industry homecare in Indonesia

Services homecare itself actually not only offers solutions for those who need health services but also for health workers who need jobs and additional income. This is related to the low appreciation and standard of salary received by nurses in Indonesia today. In addition, the current number of nursing graduates is considered not commensurate with job opportunities and welfare.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that the number of nurses in Indonesia would reach 511.191 in 2021. This number is said to have increased by 16,65% from the previous year which was 438.234 people. The unequal distribution of nurses also allows for inequality of health services in a number of regions in the country.

In Indonesia itself, there are already several companies that offer similar solutions such as Homecare24, MHomecare, also my nurse which focuses on bridging the needs of nurses.
