Bobobobo Lifestyle Marketplace Receives Series A Funding From EMTEK Group

Used to develop consumer base through online marketing, improve service for merchants, and improve mobile performance

Today (29/4), service marketplace lifestyleBobobobo announced that it has secured Series A funding from a subsidiary EMTEK Group, PT. Creative Media Karya (KMK) in an undisclosed amount. This funding will be used to develop customer base they With Online marketing through collaboration with the EMTEK Group. Besides that they will also suite of services for merchant partners and also develop and improve the performance of initiatives mobile devices-New.

Although not disclosed with certainty, the Director of EMTEK Group Alvin Widarta Sariaatmadja indicated that the investment given to Bobobobo was in the range of tens of billions of Rupiah. With this investment, the EMTEK Group has a 20 percent minority stake in Bobobobo. Previously, the EMTEK Group has also provide Series B funding on service marketplace Bukalapak in an undisclosed amount through its subsidiary KMK.

Alvin said, "We cannot reveal the exact amount of investment in Bobobobo, but the investment is in the tens of billions of rupiah. Thus we become a minority shareholder here, the amount is approximately 20%. to develop."

The focus of the EMTEK Group itself in the next five years will be in the online industry through KMK. The EMTEK Group has also invested in several digital companies such as Bukalapak, Rumah.com which is a subsidiary of PropertyGuru, Karir.com, Lakupan.com, and finally Bobobobo. Alvin also explained that with this large amount of investment, he hopes that the EMTEK Group can play a role in shaping a better digital ecosystem in Indonesia.

With this newly obtained funding from KMK, Bobobobo wants to increase growth of its products. To realize this, Bobobobo will focus the use of funds on development consumer base with Online marketing through collaboration with the EMTEK Group, improve suite of service for merchant who become partners, and improve performance mobile devices to provide the best experience for consumers.

Bobobobo CEO Jimmy Akili said, "This newly acquired fund will be used to polish our products even better. For example, by providing new experiences from the mobile side, improving delivery quality, and so on. This year, we clearly want to grow, because from the start 2015 Bobobobo also showed good growth per month (the number of visitors to Bobobobo increased by 6 times since January 2015)."

Bobobo itself was founded in 2013 with a vision to improve Indonesia's creative economy by empowering local designers and brands. Currently, according to Jimmy, the percentage of local brands also dominates on his platform with the percentage, possibly reaching 80 percent. In addition, in less than 2 years of operation, Bobobobo has more than 1000 registered brands which are divided into 7 main categories on its website, namely Woman, Man, Living, Travel, Food, and Wellness.
