Alibaba and J&T Express Inaugurate "J&T Alibaba", Provide Global Marketing Access for Local SMEs

It has been established since 2016, but was only officially announced on May 9, 2017

Alibaba and J&T Express announced the inauguration J&T Alibaba, a company with a newly formed entity specifically targeting the B2B segment. This company is an official partner and representative of Alibaba's office in Indonesia, with the enthusiasm to encourage the Indonesian economy through the SME sector to penetrate the international market through the platform E-commerce.

J&T Alibaba provides business consulting services E-commerce directly from experts, education on marketing and export strategies, and direct access to a pool of potential buyers from around the world through the Alibaba network.

"J&T Alibaba is officially established as Alibaba's business partner in Indonesia, not as a logistics partner. We are committed to advancing the Indonesian economy by encouraging the SME sector and introducing their products to the international market," said Director of J&T Alibaba Oliver Yang, Tuesday (9/5).

General Manager of Oversea B2B of Alibaba Group Jack Zhang added, "The reason we partnered with J&T Express is because they have 1.200 networks spread throughout Indonesia. We hope this solid synergy can make a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy."

In its business model, J&T Alibaba provides two membership facilities for SMEs, namely International Free Member (IFM) and Global Gold Supplier (GGS). These two memberships have different facilities.

According to Alibaba's J&T Marketing Manager Agustina Putri Wijaya, this membership is the main requirement that SME entrepreneurs can take advantage of before accessing the Alibaba platform.

In the previous condition, when entrepreneurs wanted to sell on Alibaba they had to deal directly with Alibaba in China. Of course, this is very complicated and hinders the interest of entrepreneurs to export.

"Now with the J&T Alibaba, entrepreneurs can immediately register as members and sell on Alibaba. In addition, they have the potential to get new customers on Alibaba from other countries," said Agustina.

Currently, there are 26 Alibaba J&T branches that can be used to reach local entrepreneurs, including in Aceh, Bali, Balikpapan, Manado, cities on the island of Java, and several other cities. It is targeted that this year it can increase to 50 points.

It is claimed that Alibaba currently serves the B2B sector of customers in more than 190 countries and 40 industries, with 160 million buyers.
