A Year of Operation, IDMARCO Targets B2R (Business-to-Retail) Market

Placing 1300 stock points in various regions, direct integration with Indomarco warehouses, launching Android applications

Today online wholesale service IDMARCO formalize their presence by launching an Android app and changing the look of the site. This e-commerce service from Salim Group targets the B2R market (business to retail) with direct integration with Indomarco warehouses and offering selected products from Indofood and brand other.

"To make it easier for customers to access the site, we have made an update by placing categories and brand banners on the front screen to make it easier for customers to do their job repeat orders” said IDMARCO VP Marketing & Business Development Regan Dwinanda.

Running from April 2017, most transactions are said to be done via mobile phones. Demographically, IDMARCO buyers are mostly men aged 25-34 years.

Expansion focus in all corners

Celebrating its first anniversary, IDMARCO's current focus is on services throughout Indonesia. By placing 1300 stock points in various regions, IDMARCO is optimistic that it can serve 90% of locations in Indonesia.

Previously IDMARCO was present in Jabodetabek with 818 stock points spread over more than 20 thousand villages. IDMARCO also provides free shipping services to all service areas.

"We took this strategic step after getting demand from outside Java such as Sulawesi, Kalimantan to Sumatra. For that reason, IDMARCO intends to expand its coverage area throughout 2018," said Regan.

Regan added that most of IDMARCO's customers are retail or grocery store owners, the rest are food service or hurray. To attract the attention of the target market, IDMARCO often provides relevant promotions.

"This method was able to bring back old buyers as well as acquire new buyers at IDMARCO," said Regan.

Still relying on the Cash on Delivery (COD) method, IDMARCO has plans to add payment options. Meanwhile, the product selection will increase periodically.

“Until now, there are thousands of types of products for various needs. We will continue to fulfill and make it easier for consumers to get their needs,” said Regan.

Asked whether IDMARCO will compete with other e-commerce services belonging to the Salim Group, Regan said that this is not a problem because the target market for each service is different.

"With the presence of IDMARCO, it will complement all existing services under the auspices of the Salim Group, not become a competitor," said Regan.
