How to Solve Errors in Microsoft Teams

There are some problems, don't worry because here you might find the answer

Microsoft Teams was launched in 2017 as a unified communication and collaboration platform that helps businesses and organizations get things done. Microsoft leverages the experience built into the company's Office software to create a unified experience across Teams, Office 365, and Skype for Business.

But like any software, things don't always go according to plan. If you're having trouble with Microsoft Teams, here's how to troubleshoot the most common problems.

Problem: Microphone or webcam not working properly

If you're having trouble with your webcam or microphone, the first thing to do is make sure your hardware isn't properly connected. Next, make sure your microphone and webcam are turned on during the meeting. You will see a button for this option when you join a new call.

If other apps can see your webcam and microphone but Teams can't, you may need to give Teams permission. To change permissions in Windows 10, click on the Windows search bar and type "webcam". Under Choose which apps can access the webcam, make sure Teams or the web browser you use to access Teams is enabled.

To change team permissions on macOS, click the Apple menu icon in the upper-left corner of your screen and select System Preferences. From here, select Security & Privacy > From Camera. You may need to click the lock icon to make changes here. Make sure Teams or the web browser you use to access Teams is enabled.

Problem: You cannot create a new team in Microsoft Teams

If you try to create a new team in Microsoft Teams and fail, contact your system administrator. Businesses and organizations have the ability to prevent individuals from creating new groups or teams. Please contact your IT department for more information on this matter.

Problem: Unable to connect to Microsoft Teams

If you're having trouble accessing Teams, make sure your Mac, PC, or mobile device can access the network or other Internet content. If your computer is connected to the internet but you can't access Teams, the service may not be available. Contact the Microsoft support page to see if there is a problem with the Teams service.

Problem: Can't access Microsoft Teams OneNote notebook

If your document library contains more than 5.000 OneNote items, the team might deliver this message: “One or more document libraries on a user or group OneDrive contain more than 5.000 OneNote items.” This is a known service limitation and Microsoft is aware of the issue.

For now, you should reduce the number of items in OneNote to less than 5.000. Microsoft provides this tool to count the number of items in a particular document library, which can help you at this point.

Problem: Notifications not sent to desktop

If you stop receiving notifications from Microsoft Teams, it's probably not a malfunction – permissions may have changed. First, make sure the team app has the correct settings enabled. Open the Microsoft Teams app, click your profile picture in the top right and select Settings.

Then select the Notifications option. Make sure your notifications are still enabled and the permissions are as they should be. If notifications are not enabled, you may need to press Allow or Enable to enable them.

Error message: “We couldn't connect. Please sign in and we'll try again. "

One of the most annoying issues you can come across from Microsoft Teams is, “We can't connect. Sign up and we'll try again'. This notification appears when you leave the team app inactive for too long.

If you don't pay attention when this banner notification appears, you can skip meeting announcements and instructions until you give up.

Unfortunately, restarting the app isn't enough to fix the problem but you can usually fix it by resetting the app cache. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1.  Close the Teams app completely by right clicking on it Tim icon in the system tray (next to the clock on the taskbar) and select Close.
  2. Right-click the Start menu icon and click lari.
  3. In the Run window that appears, type %Appdata% Microsoft. Click Enter.
  4. In the new window, right click on it Tim folder and select Change name.
  5. Type Team Reserve and press Enter on your keyboard.

Open the Teams app and try using it again. You may have to reconfigure the settings from scratch, but this issue should eventually be resolved.

If Microsoft Teams is still giving you problems, it might be time to contact your organization or company system administrator.

If you're the admin in charge of a team and need additional help, just take a look at the support documentation from Microsoft. If all else fails, you can always contact Microsoft's technical team for additional assistance.
