The Easiest Way to Migrate a WordPress Blog, No Need to Move Databases

How to migrate blogWordPress generally done by using the features backup either panel app, via File Manager or terminal servers. Done for fillet and also database.

But the way above is a complicated solution for beginners who have never been in contact with any of the ones mentioned above. Then, is there the easiest way?

There is.

Come on, let's try!

WordPress Blog Migration Flow

Before entering the tutorial, you need to understand the flow that must be done.

  • First stage: we will export files and database in one step only.
  • The second stage: Change the domain nameservers and DNS according to the new hosting nameservers.
  • The third stage: import files and databases, also with just one step.

First Steps of Blog Migration

  • The position is now on the old server, yes.
  • You are planning to move to a new server.
  • So, go to your WordPress blog dashboard, then install a new plugin called All in One Migration.

  • Once installed, now in the dashboard menu will add a new option All in One Migration. Hover over the menu then click export.

  • In the Export pane, click Advanced settings if you want to exclude certain data. If it's not there, then don't check anything. (2). Next click Export to or Export to (3), select File or Fillet(4).
  • Wait until the plugin displays a window like this. This means that files and databases are ready to be downloaded.

Second Stage of Blog Migration

In the second stage, now change the domain name server with the new hosting name server. You can usually get this name server information from the hosting you rent.

To change the name server you must log into the account where your domain is registered, then enter the DNS Manager or something (different hosting, different names and different tools). In essence, in this panel you can change the name server as well as DNS.

Third Stage of WordPress Blog Migration

After the name server is changed, don't do this third step because I'm sure it won't work. Wait a few tens of minutes (at the earliest), or several hours. In some cases even days.

This is called the propagation process, where the domain is still adjusting connections from the old IP to the new IP, from the old name server to the new name server.

What are the signs of complete propagation?

Clear cache di browser You, if you need to flush DNS on your PC then access your WordPress blog as usual. If it still looks like a fresh installation or it's still empty, it means that the domain is pointing to a new server.

But if the old blog still looks complete with its contents, the possibility of the propagation process has not been completed.

I assume your blog propagation is finished, yes. So, let's move on to the last step.

  • Go to your blog dashboard, then repeat the first step, install the All in One Migration plugin again and activate it.
  • The difference is, this time we will click the menu All in One Migration - Import.
  • Then click File or Fillet, and find the export file in the first stage earlier.
  • Wait for the process upload done, then just click Continue and Ok until the final stage.

  • Done, the whole file is like themes, plugins, users, settings until the database will be automatically moved to the new blog.

Good luck!
