Hacktiv8 Develops Kode.id, an Online Course Platform with Various Skills Materials

Course content in the form of video on demand, sold in free and premium versions

Hacktiv8, which has been known as an intensive training program, has become an developer started to innovate by presenting the online learning platform Kode.id (Kode). Ronald Ishak and Riza Fahmi (co-founders) involved in filling out the video course materials.

When contacted DailySocial Ronald explains, "Hacktiv8's vision is to be a bridge between supply and demand on developer in Indonesia. While running the Coding Bootcamp, we realized that not everyone can devote 40 hours per week to a full class. So the Code was built."

Code was originally born with the aim of helping the wider community in learning programming. But over time, Code classes are also enriched with content from other disciplines such as leadership, business, marketing, to design. The journey of the new Code began in early July 2019, although they are currently raising funds to make the Code a "online upskilling platform"The biggest in Indonesia.

Ronald introduced the Code as "subscription based online upskilling video platformThey offer free registration complete with a number of course free available. In addition, there is also a premium account with a subscription system with a subscription fee of IDR 269.000 per month.

Although there are quite a lot of free version learning videos, by subscribing to a premium account you will get a number of complementary learning features, such as access to premium classes, access to online videos, and "learning path" which makes it easier for users to determine learning sequences.

In Kode, a "Skill Assessment" feature is also provided at each stage of learning to determine the extent of understanding of a material. In addition, the Code also has analytical features that are only for B2B, which allows companies to monitor the progress of their employees' learning process.

"Skill Assessment or you could call it a competency test, will help the learner to determine the level of understanding of a particular skill. Learners (as Code users) will be given a quiz which will be available at the beginning of using the platform. Based on the answers given, we will suggest a suitable class for Learners based on the results of the quiz," explained Ronald.

Enrich the class library

In addition to allowing the public to access online learning videos, Kode also opens opportunities for anyone who has the skills to become a teacher through the "Subject Matter Expert (SME)" feature. In this first year, the Code wants to enrich the class library so as to provide a variety of learning options.
