Collaborating with Datanest, Gringgo Develops AI Technology for Waste Management

Received $500.000 grant from Google, plans to expand service area in two cities

The focus on the initial mission was to become the platform of choice for tackling the urban waste crisis and the problem of plastic waste in the oceans, Gringo in the near future plans to expand the service area to two major cities in Indonesia.

The startup that chose Bali as its head office has established partnerships with several companies private collectors. Utilizing the technology owned, Gringgo can get feedback of them in order to improve service. In addition to adding two locations, this year they have plans to raise funds.

"So we cooperate with waste collectors in the village and some private collectors. We ask them to use our system to Improve what are they doing in exchange we can buy recycled goods that they collect and then we sell directly to the factory or processor bigger one," said CTO Gringgo Febriadi Pratama to DailySocial.

Gringgo is a web-based application that can be used to facilitate waste management systems. Through this service, users can request that their waste be transported and processed. Targeting the B2B segment, Gringgo's monetization strategy is based on buying and selling used goods and waste management consulting services. Currently the company has around 10 clients who take advantage of its platform.

Partnership with Datanest

Gringgo has just been selected as one of the startups who get the opportunity from Google.org through Google AI Impact Challenge and is entitled to a grant of $500.000.

Later Gringgo will partner with Datanest.io, a startup provider of Data Science-as-a-Services platform engaged in the Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence industry, to implement an artificial intelligence (AI) system that aims to increase recycling capacity, reduce plastic pollution in the ocean, and improve waste management in the community with minimal resources real-time.

As one of the startups assisted by the accelerator program GK-Plug and Play Indonesia, Gringgo had the opportunity to visit San Francisco to prepare for the implementation with Google. Both Gringgo and Datanest are the two startups graduated from the accelerator program GK-Plug and Play Indonesia in the 2nd batch.

"It is an honor to be selected as one of the recipients of the Google AI Impact Challenge grant. We are excited to see how far we can go and make a bigger impact through our partnership with Google and Datanest. And as the only grantee from Southeast Asia "We will contribute positive values ​​for the region and Indonesia," said Febriadi.
