Medico has posted a "month-to-month growth rate" of over 30%

Besides being known as angel investors –who is also a member of ANGIN—Grace Tahir is the Co-Founder and CEO of Medico, a SaaS (Software as a Services) based doctor/health clinic management service developer. Medical itself is not Grace's first work in the field of health technology (healthtech), because previously he also founded Dokter.id, an online channel for health consultations.

What is interesting here, the health sector is the focus in developing digital products. Then how does Grace see healthtech in Indonesia in the future? According to his observations with 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, currently the industry healtech overall continues to increase. There are many things that still need to be learned, but the need in terms of market share is clear.

"Healthcare industry overall continues to increase expenditures for healthcare continues to increase, so it is not surprising that healthtech will be one of the digital fields that attractive," Grace said to DailySocial.

To make healthtech can be "the next fintech/e-commerce", according to Grace the main component in the product that was developed itself.

"The key is product what is really needed. Lots healthtech companies who put out the product but not much adoption rate, then it is a deeper and better understanding the top of this industry is key. Demand is there but it is a demand for the right product," continued Grace.

According to data collected by Medico, as of 2016 spending on healthcare information technology systems reached $2 billion and is projected to grow to more than $6 billion in 2019. In terms of market share, healthcare services such as hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies now reach almost 30 thousand units and is expected to continue to increase by 10-13% in the next 4 years

Medico service updates

Services provided in the Medico / Medico . application

Recently, Medico announced a strategic partnership with BPJS. Namely in the form of integration of the Medico system with the P-Care BPJS application. The goal is to make it easier for clinics or hospitals that implement Medico to monitor the achievement of indicators such as Contact Number and Routine Prolanis Participant Ratio.

"This is one of Medico's main goals, which is to increase efficiency so that doctors, nurses, medical personnel and management can focus more on providing services to patients," added Grace.

Since it started operating in 2016 with the support funding from East Ventures, currently Medico has posted a monthly growth rate of more than 30 percent. In achieving this achievement, Grace also mentioned several challenges, especially in relation to service adjustments.

"Broadly speaking, the issue we are facing is not an issue, but a challenges to improve. We hear a lot of requests from doctors and Providers so that our system user friendly but at the same time full of features. Then it's a process Development we're at the beginning more extended, said Grace.

For the agenda in 2018, Medico plans to release a management system for hospitals. There are currently several contracts with local hospitals for the implementation of the system. Several collaborations have also been initiated, including with companies from abroad. Next year will be quite an interesting agenda for Medico's business and product development, as well as strengthening its debut with the ecosystem healtech in Indonesia.
