Appreciation for the Contribution of MSMEs, Grab 2023 MSME Celebration Title

Grab and OVO holding the 2023 UMKM Celebration, which is supported by the Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM). This event is a form of appreciation for the achievements and contributions of MSMEs who are members of the platform Grab and Ovo.

In a press release received by Dailysocial, platform Grab and OVO have received membership from more than 500 thousand new MSMEs in the past year, opening up job opportunities for 1 million individuals. The event, which was held at Fresh Market, Bintaro, South Tangerang, is part of a series of activities leading up to National UMKM Day on August 12.

"MSMEs have a strategic position and role in the Indonesian economy with a contribution of 61% of Indonesia's GDP and absorbing 97% of the workforce," explained the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Teten Masduki, who seemed enthusiastic about participating in the Indonesian culinary culinary session.

In the 2023 MSME Celebration event, Grab providing opportunities for MSMEs from cities such as Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Medan to showcase their flagship products.

Based on information from the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, around 22 million MSMEs have been onboarding, and by 2023, the target is 24 million MSMEs integrated in the digital ecosystem.

Responding to these achievements, Country Managing Director Grab Indonesia, Neneng Goenadi, stated, "Grab and OVO #PercayaUMKM Indonesia and continue to support the government to achieve the target of digitizing 30 million MSMEs in 2024. Various initiatives will continue to facilitate MSMEs in developing businesses, such as digital training programs in applications GrabMerchant, and information portal one pintu via Instagram account @GrabMerchant ID."

Not only MSME actors in the culinary field, Grab and OVO also continues to encourage the digitization of market traders. “Thousands of market traders have joined forces Grab through GrabMarket Marts in 26 cities throughout Indonesia," concluded Neneng Goenadi.

This event not only features bazaars and exhibitions from UMKM, but also offers art performances, play zones for families, and sports activity sessions.
