GoPay Releases Cash Withdrawal Feature Through BCA ATM

LinkAja has already developed this feature with Himbara

GoPay has developed a cash withdrawal feature through BCA ATM outlets spread throughout Indonesia. GoPay is the second electronic money player, after LinkAja, which developed this feature because it is a subsidiary of Himbara.

In an official statement, cash withdrawals only require five easy processes. Users simply select the Cash Withdrawal feature, then enter the nominal GoPay balance they want to withdraw and authenticate with a PIN. After that, users will receive a six-digit transaction code that can be used directly at BCA ATMs.

This transaction code is confidential and is only valid for one hour from the time the code is issued. To withdraw cash at a BCA ATM, the user selects the "Cardless transaction" menu and enters the virtual account code (70008 + cellphone number), then the transaction code. The ATM will issue cash according to the amount requested.

This development is not only beneficial for GoPay users, including the driver-partners themselves if they need to buy something suddenly. BCA itself has released the "Cardless Transaction" feature since 2017 with control via a mobile banking application. Meanwhile, BCA has 17.067 ATMs as of March 2020.

“[..] This feature is also very helpful for GoPay users who are used to it everyday cashless but on some occasions cash is needed,” explained GoPay VP Business Development Imam Akbar Hadikusumo, Tuesday (11/8).

He said, previously the two companies had worked together through the BCA Virtual Account and OneKlik features. This GoPay cash withdrawal feature will be available in stages for all users Gojek. It's just that to be able to enjoy this feature, users need to upgrade their account to GoPay Plus.

EVP of Transaction Banking Business Development BCA I Ketut Alam Wangsawijaya added “BCA as part of the national financial system is committed to being open to collaboration opportunities with e-wallet developer partners in providing financial experience seamless for BCA customers and GoPay users.”

Imam continued by upgrading the account to GoPay Plus, users can not only take advantage of the cash withdrawal feature, but also use the transfer feature to fellow GoPay users, transfers to other banks, larger GoPay limits, and extra protection for GoPay Back Balance Guarantee.

Withdraw Cash at LinkAja

Neither Ovo nor Dana, GoPay's closest competitors, have a cash withdrawal feature. It's different with LinkAja, because being a subsidiary of Himbara, LinkAja users can withdraw their cash balance using the Link ATM network.

The code will be entered into the ATM machine to continue the transaction. When withdrawing cash at Bank Mandiri ATM for example, users just press softkeys (green button on the bottom right next to the ATM screen. Then select "LinkAja Cash Withdraw" and "Cash withdrawal". After the user enters the registered mobile number and enters the withdrawal code for the final stage.
