Google Developers Launchpad and Kibar Launch "Digitaraya" Acceleration Program

Each batch will recruit eight startups. Two batches in a year and the program lasts for 3 months

Google Developers Launchpad and Kibar on Monday (14/05), launched the Digitaraya accelerator program. It is hoped that this acceleration program can encourage the growth of the startup ecosystem in Indonesia. Kibar CEO Yansen Kamto told the media that this world-class accelerator program focuses on developing new startups in Indonesia.

"We want to work and learn from the best, because Google believes in Indonesia and Google has good intentions to help."

This program, supported by Google Indonesia, will present local and foreign mentors, Google materials and teaching, and opportunities networking with the Google network.

Through collaboration with Google Developers Launchpad, Digitaraya and Indonesia will join the best independent accelerator network from Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia.

"This partnership with Kibar is Google's effort to bring together accelerator programs from all over the country. In addition, Google also wants to give selected startups the opportunity to meet VCs from Silicon Valley and other countries," said Google Ecosystem Southeast Asia Developer Sami Kizilbash.

Digitaraya acceleration program

Located in Menara Kibar, the Digitaraya acceleration program focuses on recruiting quality startups that have achieved product / market fit, while wanting to reach more users and improve the retention.

The startup category chosen by Digitaraya is agriculture, education, health, tourism, logistics, and energy. Startups targeting one of the six categories can register as participants in the Digitaraya acceleration program batch first.

To ensure the acceleration program runs effectively, Digitaraya only selects eight startups to enter the program. The acceleration program will run for three months. Every year Digitaraya will hold two batches of acceleration programs.

Digitaraya is supported by global mentors such as VP CyberAgent Ventures Steven Vanada, Google Developer Advocate Yohan Totting, Google Developer Expert Borrys Hasian, and UXiD Co-founder Eunice Sari.

"In addition to providing training and mentoring from experienced mentors, Digitaraya will also build partnerships with corporations and the banking sector. Currently, it has entered the exploration stage with one of the banks that will become Digitaraya's partners," said VP Strategy Digitaraya Nicole Yap.

The program that will be launched by Digitaraya is the Design Sprint which takes place in August 2018, followed by Business Model and Go-To-Market in September 2018, and ends with Management Skills and Pitch Refinement in October 2018.

"At the end of the program, we will hold a Demo Day for startups that have gone through an acceleration program for three months," said Head of Startup Relations Digitaraya Alyssa Maharani.
