Go-Viet Officially Launches in Vietnam, Now Operating in Two Cities

Today Go-Jek inaugurated the presence of Go-Viet in Vietnam which was also attended by President Joko Widodo. The presence of Go-Viet in Vietnam is claimed to be welcomed by the local community. Go-Jek Co-Founder and CEO Nadiem Makarim claimed they were able to capture 15% of the online transportation market in Ho Chi Minh in just a matter of weeks. Go-Viet is now also available in Hanoi city.

"One thing that is special about Go-Viet is the spirit of collaboration. [..] We are proud to be able to share Indonesian technology abroad so that the Vietnamese people can use it," said Nadiem Makarim as quoted from Coil.

Nadiem continued, Go-Viet has already gotten 1,5 million downloads since the first time  operate in Ho Chi Minh city. Now Go-Viet is coming to Hanoi with two services starter them, Go-Bike and Go-Send.

Go-Viet CEO Duc Nguyen hopes that Go-Jek can have a good influence and impact in Vietnam, just as Go-Jek did in Indonesia.

"We open the service depending on demand. In late 2018 and early 2019 there are four main pillars: Go-Bike, Go-Send, Go-Food and e-wallet. These are the most essential things for Vietnamese customers. Based on that we will further expansion," explained Nguyen.

The Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara, showed his pride in Go-Jek's achievements through his personal Twitter account. Through a tweet, Rudiantara explained that the moment of launching Go-Jek in Vietnam was able to become a legacy Indonesia's first in the digital realm. He hopes that this moment can be a trigger for other startups to be able to penetrate regional and global markets.
