GDILab Prepares Regional Expansion, Expands Chatbot Services [UPDATED]

Already have BNI, AXIS, and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs as chatbot service clients via Twitter

GDILab, a social media analytics service, announced plans to expand to a regional scale to further develop a chatbot service that integrates with analytics.

This action will begin in the second quarter of this year, starting with cooperating with strategic partners for the targeted countries, such as Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

GDILab last time announce investment acquisition in October 2016 from a strategic investor with an undisclosed nominal and identity. It is only mentioned that the investor is the CEO of a large IT company in Indonesia. Previously, the company received investment from Andy Zain, Managing Director of Kejora.

"Currently we are entering the Asian market with the solutions we have, by cooperating with several strategic partners. We will be the technology partners," explained GDILab Co-Founder & VP Business Development Jefri Dinomo to DailySocial.

According to him, on a business scale, mixing and matching chatbots with analytics has enormous potential. Technologically, the application is the same from one country to another because of the similarity of algorithms. The difference is only in terms of language and consumer behavior.

This chatbot technology, said Jefri, apparently is not new to GDILab. They have been developing it since 2015. However, at that time GDILab was still using chatbots for services autoresponder supported by Twitter Indonesia.

The company's chatbot is dedicated to social media platforms using LEAP (Listen Engage Analyze Product) smart technology as the backbone of all digital analytics products created by GDILab.

Meanwhile, products related to analytics that have been marketed by GDILab include GDI Analytics which is a fusion of the two previous products Polaris (Facebook-Twitter Analytics) and Iris (Instagram Analytics). Then, there is GNEWS, and SocialMeter (for SMEs and buzzer).

"For the past two years we take it seriously [chatbot] because some clients asked us to be made marketing solutions, help problem Sales they."

Partnering with BNI and AXIS

The introduction of the chatbot technology created by GDILab has increasingly enlivened the competitive landscape with other technology companies that offer similar services. There are several companies that play in the same sector in Indonesia, including Kata.ai, Bang Joni, Qiscus, EVA, and so on.

GDILab has announced a partnership with BNI and AXIS powered by Twitter. For BNI, the chatbot feature is now applied via the @BNI Twitter account in the Direct Message column.

Customers can find out information about E-Money products from BNI, such as Tap Cash and Yap!, to top up balances, check balances, and check the latest promos. Meanwhile, with AXIS, the chatbot feature is also applied to the @AXISgsm Twitter account to facilitate customers in the SIM Card registration process.

"Our service is in the form of a button, making it easier for BNI customers to provide services to their customers."

Not only with these two companies, the GDILab chatbot service is also available for government agencies in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. It will be easier for the government to communicate with the public using the Twitter account @kemenkopUKM.

"Seeing the seriousness of KemenkopUKM in serving SMEs, GDILab is committed to helping facilitate public services by developing a chatbot for Twitter @kemenkopUKM. In this account, SMEs can easily get information that is useful for their business," said GDILab CEO Billy Boen in official statement.
