Hope to enrich IDN Times content for millennials and gen Z

IDN Media announced its cooperation agreement with Rappler Indonesia to enrich the coverage of news content on its portal. The focus is on providing content that can be consumed by users millennials and gene Z. From this collaboration, all of Rappler Indonesia's news will enter and appear on the IDN Times page, precisely on the subdomain rapper.idntimes.com.

Previous IDN Times known as a news portal focused on entertainment and lifestyle content. The inclusion of Rapple at the same time to expand the scope of content to the realm of news in the form of investigations and long form. From the information provided by the IDN Media team, currently both are still in the process of transition, which means that the existing form of cooperation that can be enjoyed at this time is not final.

Asked about whether there will be a merger of the editorial team, IDN Media informed that each editorial team will continue to work separately. The Rappler Indonesia team is still working on its own content (which will be published later)host at IDN Times), as well as the IDN Times editorial team. Rappler was launched in 2012 and has become one of the most popular online news sites in the Philippines, and Indonesia became its first expansion country in 2015.

Winston Utomo, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of IDN Media, admires Rappler's reputation in the digital media industry and believes that this collaboration can strengthen IDN Media's commitment to become a leading digital media company for millennials and gene Z in Indonesia.

The same goes for Rappler CEO Maria Ressa. He said that the collaboration with IDN Media was in line with Rappler's values, which focused on the younger generation.

“This collaboration is established because IDN Media and Rappler share the same values, namely independence and content that focuses on the younger generation. This collaboration has paved the way for Rappler together with IDN Media to present useful content to the younger generation," said Ressa.

“Going forward, we look forward to bringing Rappler's expertise and experience to IDN Media. For Rappler, we want to provide Indonesians with a platform, where they can discover what matters to their lives, share their views, and help them. Just like what we have done in the Philippines,” continued Ressa.
