The first speaker this time is
Antony Liem from Merah Putih Inc. At the beginning of his presentation, Antonny introduced an incubator called Merah Putih Inc and several
startup which have been incubated, among others
CrossMe,
KrazyMarket,
Bolalob,
Infokost,
Kaskus,
DailySocialand
MindTalk. Before discussing about
startup what an incubator looks for, Antonny explains what to do when building an
startup
The first is when jotting down ideas on a paper/book. If you want to have a good idea, Antonny explains in a few points. The first is
steal, don't copy, brainstorm to make it better, write it down, keep it simpleand
perfection is a state of mind. After having a mature idea, the next step is to write down some points that your business must have, namely
name and brand name, vision, mission, goals and objectives, SWOT analysis, strategic plan, financial planand
measurements and objectives. After these two stages are completed, the next stage is
business plan canvas. There are several things that must be considered at this stage, namely:
value proposition, customer segment, advantage, channels, revenue structure, problem, solution, key metrics and
cost structure. To learn to make
business plan canvas, Antonny also suggested to access
LeanCanvas.com. Well, after the stages in building a
startup, Antonny began to explain what the incubator provided, what the incubator was looking for, etc. The incubator, itself provides the infrastructure,
service, mentorship, network, and what is certain is
capital. Then the most sought after an incubator is
founder (attitude, character, way of thinking, etc.), ideas, and
product samples/prototypes. And the most important thing when meeting with investors,
venture capital, incubator, and the like, is how you dress. Antonny also explained about the level of capital in a company
startup, that is
no cash, honey (capital knee) ->
personal savings ->
friends and family (borrowing capital with the closest people) ->
incubators ->
angels and small VC ->
Classic VCs ->
Corporate VC ->
Working bank loans -> IPOs.
