Edtech Startup AyoBlajar Inaugurated, Also Provides Online Class and LMS Features

Already pocketed initial funding

The pandemic period does slip an opportunity among the many difficulties. edtech was one that struck the chance. Ruangguru and Zenius were two who stood out during the Covid-19 hit Indonesia.

Between the second hegemony EdTech Earlier, another new player appeared. This startup is called AyoBlajar. Operating since 2018, AyoBlajar was only registered as a company in July 2019. In fact, their application was officially published as of Friday, September 4, 2020.

In the launch event, AyoBlajar Co-Founder & CEO Fariz Isnaini said, AyoBlajar is a platform EdTech with a focus on middle and high school education. He reasoned that both of them were chosen because at that level students' interest began to appear.

The AyoBlajar platform can be accessed on Android devices and the website. Like the platform EdTech On the other hand, he relies on videos as a learning resource, test materials and quizzes to hone students' understanding. But beyond that there are several things that distinguish AyoBlajar from EdTech other.

First is the Live Classes feature. This feature allows user students to take certain classes independently real-time. There are also one-on-one mentoring make it easier for students to discuss further about the subject matter. The AyoBlajar platform also provides a progress chart feature that allows parents to map students' learning abilities.

But what distinguishes AyoBlajar from other platforms is their feature called Learning Management System (LMS). This feature is made to make it easier for schools to design online teaching and learning activities. COO & Co-Founder Audy Laksmana said, with this feature the school will not be difficult in preparing materials or exams for students.

"That's why we created this Learning Management System so that schools can move the teaching and learning process from offline ke online," added Audrey.

Play in B2B and B2C

As for the aspect of the business model, AyoBlajar adopts two types, namely B2C and B2B. LMS aimed at schools is their B2B product. AyoBlajar sets various prices for these products. According to Fariz, this was done because it follows the abilities of different schools. "But now we don't charge most [schools]," explained Fariz.

Indeed, AyoBlajar is not the only one that has LMS products in Indonesia. Grade for example, has introduced itself as a platform that facilitates online school teaching and learning activities since January 2020. However, Fariz claims that the LMS at AyoBlajar offers flexibility that is not available on other platforms.

"What distinguishes our LMS from others is that our LMS has been integrated with online classes so teachers can create and manage their own classes."

While their B2C products are all aimed at students. The model they chose was a subscription fee. The cost is also broken down into more diverse depending on the features the user needs.

The path taken by AyoBlajar is somewhat different from EdTech mostly domestic. Generally EdTech which have been operating previously take a focus on one between B2B and B2C. Closely cooperating with all stakeholders in the country's education ecosystem is the key for AyoBlajar in running the two business models.

"Let's Learn to strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders who have the same vision, namely to improve education in Indonesia, with these collaborations AyoBlajar can compete on both sides, B2B and B2C," explained Fariz.

Target

Currently, AyoBlajar claims to have 13 thousand students and 23 schools registered on their platform. The pandemic situation that requires teaching and learning activities to be carried out online creates its own opportunities for AyoBlajar.

More Coverage:

From the funding aspect, AyoBlajar has pocketed initial funding. However, they were reluctant to mention the investment amount and the investors who participated in the funding round.
