Farm Startup Eden Farm Gets Initial Funding of 24,8 Billion Rupiah

Funding was obtained from Y Combinator, Everhaus, Global Founders Capital, Soma Capital, S7 Venture and a number of angel investors

Eden Farm is a startup agrotech which tries to provide distribution services for fresh vegetable products in restaurants and cafes. The platform they built connects farmers directly with business owners. In order to accelerate their business, they recently booked new funding from Global Founders Capital to increase seed round worth more than $1,7 million (equivalent to 24,8 billion Rupiah).

Previously, the startup led by David Gunawan had also received funding participation in the same stage through the Y Combinator program, with the involvement of Everhaus, Soma Capital, S7 Venture and a number of angel investors. Currently The Duck King, Cruchchaus Salads, OldTown White Coffe, Crystal Jade to Gyu-Kaku are some of the names that have become customers. Eden Farm.

In addition to vegetables – which come from traditional farmers' gardens and hydroponics – and fresh fruit, they also serve orders for dry food and spices. In the future, it will also serve the purchase of meat and fish from farmers. Established since 2017, currently serving outlets in around Jabodetabek. There are already around 60 farmer partners who become suppliers of merchandise. Eden Farm believes that with the solution, the problems of culinary businessmen – supply, stability and extreme price volatility – can be managed.

Regarding the strategy to ensure price stability, apart from taking goods directly from farmers, they also apply wholesale purchases of products. Quality control is always applied, before being sent the team will inspect and wash the product. Interestingly, Eden Farm is ready to accommodate if there are products that have been delivered and cannot be used.

Expansion will also be a focus after this funding. It is planned that they will soon be present in Bali, Bandung, Malang, Medan and Surabaya; with an ambitious target of embracing 25 thousand restaurants – including SME scale ones.
