e27 Luminaries Shows List of Individuals Behind Startup Developments in Southeast Asia

e27 announced the launch of "e27 Luminaries", a list featuring 56 individuals from the startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia who have overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. They are important figures for the success and growth of their respective companies. This initiative highlights the “unsung heroes” in the startup ecosystem, individuals who are undaunted and high achievers in realizing the company's vision.

Specifically e27 Luminaries displays a list non-founders who have led innovative projects, implemented ideas that benefited society, or made extraordinary achievements despite unfavorable circumstances -- and were directly nominated by their respective companies. The companies on the list were also selected by the e27 team based on their outstanding achievements in one of five categories: Pivots, Funding and Acquisitions, Partnerships, Expansions, and Breakthroughs.

"e27 Luminaries is a tribute to people who work in startups, who strive to make the impossible possible and work against all odds to realize the mission behind the startup," said e27 Co-Founder & CEO Mohan Belani .

Mohan further said, "A developing technology ecosystem not only requires founder visionaries and investors who are willing to embrace crazy ideas, but also a group of people who are strongly dedicated to challenging the ups and downs of working in a startup to help realize those visions and ideas. Our goal is to highlight these individuals and some of the achievements they have made that many may not realize."

Several important startup figures from Indonesia who entered the list include: Victor Oloan (Senior Engineering Manager, Finantier), Ade Yuanda Saragih (Country Head Indonesia, GajiGesa), Severan Rault (CTO, Gojek), Andre Widjaja (Chief of Business Development, GudangAda), and many others. Thanks to the efforts of these individuals, their company has created more than 13 thousand jobs and served at least 200 million customers in the market. They also generated a combined valuation of more than $50 billion.

This is one of the initiatives that e27 continues to roll out to oversee the growth of the digital startup ecosystem in the region. Previously they also launched Perks, that is benefits digital services that startups can get to support their daily productivity.
