Trakteer is here to make it easier for creators to get financial support from their fans

Currently, there are 1614 art lovers and 482 creators from various fields

Every work deserves appreciation. This has inspired Miftah Mizwar, Rizki Lizuardi, and Budi Satria Wijaya to develop Tractor. The platform allows creators to connect and get financial support directly from the connoisseurs of their creations, as a form of appreciation.

According to Miftah's explanation, based on internal research, currently there are still many creators who are not yet good at monetizing their work – some of them already have quite a large fan base. Generally due to the limited monetization features on the content publisher platform used. In addition, the strict conditions that must be met on a platform to be able to withdraw money from his work are also something to complain about.

When Trakteer was developed, Miftah and the team also realized that at the global level there were already platforms such as Patreon, Ko-Fi, or Buymeacoffee. However, the problem requires the use of a credit card for transactions. Meanwhile, credit card penetration in Indonesia is not yet massive, so it will be less than optimal if applied to creators here.

For this reason, Trakteer is here, offering a similar concept with a payment system that is easier for users. They work closely with local payment systems, in particular e-wallet. In its debut, art lovers can give appreciation using Gopay balances. In the near future, Ovo and Dana will be available.

"Trakteer hopes to foster a culture of mutual support between creators and connoisseurs of their work. With the full support of their supporters, a creator can realize his dream of living financially independent from his work. The more content creators who are independent from their work, the more opportunities there will be to the opening of new job opportunities,” explained Miftah.

This Bandung-based startup is still running its business online bootstrapped. Interestingly, in the initial phase during the initial launch, they also raised funds on their platform to get support, as well as validate the acceptance of services in the community. Currently, for the services and technological facilities provided, Trakteer charges 5% of the total donations generated by creators.

Since its release as of August 17, 2019, Trakteer has had 2096 users, consisting of 1614 connoisseurs of works and 482 creators from various fields; including comics, youtuber, writers, bloggers, to podcasts.

In addition to adding payment options, for product development the Trakteer team is focusing on perfecting the platform to increase the convenience of creators in providing exclusive content to their supporters. After that they also plan to release an app mobile devices.

Meanwhile, for business improvisation, there are two things that are currently in the research and planning stages. The first is the development of premium memberships for creators. And the second provision marketplace digital for creators.

"Through Trakteer, we hope to be able to play a role in improving the national economy in the creative economy," concluded Miftah.

For your information, besides Trakteer currently there is also KaryaKarsa as a local platform that has a similar service model, facilitating creators to connect and gain support from their fans.
