The fruit of cooperation between BPJS and Halodoc, Health Content Will Soon Appear on Mobile JKN

There are a number of other cooperation products that are still being explored by both parties

BPJS Health and Halodoc establish partnerships in the development of digital health services. One fruit of the cooperation between the two parties is the availability of health information content Halodoc in app Mobile JKN.

"We will provide more information later because at this time we are still discussing more deeply, but what is clear is that the earliest feature is health-related information," said BPJS Kesehatan Director of Information Technology Wahyuddin Bagenda.

In addition to the content features, both BPJS Health and Halodoc still reluctant to disclose other things from their collaboration. CEO Halodoc Jonathan Sudharta said that there were many things discussed in this collaboration and he did not rule out several possibilities.

One that allows it is the BPJS premium payment feature. "Are we going to help facilitate? I think it is very likely that in the discussion it will be part of the service," Jonathan added.

Boosting dues payment compliance

Exploration of cooperation between BPJS Kesehatan and Halodoc This is actually inseparable from BPJS efforts to improve compliance with the payment of contributions for their participants. Since a long time, compliance with paying contributions has become BPJS Health's homework.

As an illustration, the participants of the National Health Insurance-Healthy Indonesia Card (JKN-KIS) numbered 221 million people or more than 83 percent of the total population of Indonesia. JKN-KIS participation is divided into Contribution Assistance Recipients (PBI), Wage Recipient Participants (PPU), and Non-Wage Recipient Participants (PBPU). Payment of PBI and PPU contributions is relatively smooth because they are carried out by the government and companies respectively.

Meanwhile, PBPU are those who own businesses, entrepreneurs, and workers in any sector who do not receive a monthly wage. It is in this category that the payment of BPJS Health contributions is stuck. Currently, it is recorded that compliance with payment of contributions at PBPU is only around 50 percent of the 32 million participants, even though this group is considered to have absorbed the most BPJS money.

Cooperation with Halodoc this is an example of BPJS Health's new approach in boosting contribution payments. This is because the Mobile JKN application is currently only being used by around 6 million people, far from the number of JKN-KIS participants. Temporary Halodoc claims that until now it already has 7 million monthly users with 50 percent distribution of users outside Java Island. With health information features from Halodoc In the Mobile JKN application, BPJS hopes that the public will be more aware of the importance of the health safety net they offer.

"This payment issue is a challenge because most people pay because of the rules, not because of need. One solution for this is education," Wahyuddin concluded.

Halodoc get invitations abroad

Halodoc admits that currently they are still focused on building online infrastructure in the country such as human resources, hardwareand development; as well as market education. However, Jonathan leaked that there had been invitations from several countries to do so Halodoc working there.

"Currently, many countries, both in ASEAN and in Africa, have spoken with them Halodoc bring the technology there. Just pray that we can become a health application that makes it easier for people outside Indonesia. But our focus is still on Indonesia at the moment," said Jonathan.

Platform Halodoc is a health solution with four main features which include consultation with a doctor, buying medicine through online motorcycle taxis, visits to hospitals, and laboratory services. Halodoc said their services were supported by 20.000 doctors, 1.300 pharmacies, and 1.000 hospitals.
