Get to know Lifepack, a Digital Pharmacy to Ease Access to Medicines

Focus on chronic disease sufferers and provision of prescription drugs

In the current social situation that requires individuals to reduce direct interactions, especially in public places, several alternatives have been prepared, especially in the sector healthtech. One of them is Lifepack, a digital pharmacy that was recently launched to facilitate access to medicines, especially for patients with a history of chronic disease, with a subscription scheme.

Lifepack is the second product of PT Indopacific Teknologi Medika Indonesia (ITMI) which is engaged in the health industry. Previously existed Jovee, a service that focuses on providing supplement needs for the community.

Natali Ardianto, CEO of ITMI and Lifepack, stated that currently their focus is on helping patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and others to get medicine without having to wait in line, let alone run out.

In a pandemic situation like now, an application like this can be a solution in the midst of isolation.

Currently, all products available in the app are recipe based. The patient will be asked to prepare the original prescription. It guarantees the authenticity of the drugs because they come from direct distributors without involving third parties.

Lifepack also provides an online consultation feature with doctors for users without a doctor's prescription. Registered doctors are those who have a Practice License (SIP) and are members of the Indonesian Doctors Association.

"Especially for this extraordinary event, we did stock more than normal, following the trend of increasing sales," added Natali.

Through this application, his party claimed to want to implement Good Pharmacy Practice in providing pharmaceutical services. This service is also equipped with special packaging for more practical and scheduled consumption.

Future plan

In terms of technology, this service has collaborated with payment gateway which provides 15 payment methods to simplify the transaction process, including credit cards, virtual bank accounts, and GoPay.

Meanwhile, in terms of logistics, the company works directly on an API basis with several logistics companies so that users can directly monitor them via the application. The focus of logistics at this time is the provision of drugs directly and quickly within a maximum of 4 hours.

Though Halodoc Having the feature of buying medicines with a similar prescription, Lifepack claims that there is no application concept that focuses on providing special medicines for people with chronic diseases on a subscription basis in Indonesia.

"The potential is there. Currently, we will follow developments and market adoption first," Natali concluded.
