Bukalapak Releases BukaAsuransi Feature, Gets Allianz as First Partner

Complementing the fintech products that the company has released

Bukalapak inaugurated the BukaAsuransi feature as the next fintech product engaged in the insurance sector. Allianz Indonesia became the first partner by releasing a special BukaProteksi Diri product which was sold through Bukalapak.

"Through this collaboration, we believe our technological innovation can benefit millions of people so that the process of having insurance becomes easier," said Bukalapak Co-Founder and President Fajrin Rasyid, Thursday (2/5).

BukaProteksi Diri is the first health insurance product offered to provide the best digital experience. This product offers affordable health insurance with annual premiums starting from IDR 236.250 to IDR 945.000. Equivalent to Rp. 19 thousand per month.

The entire process is done online, starting from registration, payment, receiving the policy, to claiming only through the Bukalapak application. Customers will get reimbursement for hospitalization costs of Rp. 200 thousand per day and a maximum claim limit of Rp. 6 million, depending on the type of benefit taken.

Bukalapak is quite active in releasing fintech products, including online mutual funds (OpenMutual), gold savings (OpenGold), and online installments (OpenInstalment) by cooperating with various partners who already have official permission from the OJK. From the merchant side, they have also released installment products to help capitalize in collaboration with banks and .

Joos Louwerier, Country Manager & President Director of Allianz Life Indonesia added, "This strategy is the company's effort to add new channels for insurance sales through digital, from channels that have been used previously, namely agencies and bancassurance.

In addition, digital channels help the company's ambition to provide protection to more people, especially those from the category mass & emerging segments.

This product is specifically designed for digital distribution so that customers can buy easily, quickly and safely," said Allianz Life's Chief Partnership Distribution Officer Bianto Surodjo .
