Bobobox Receives Pre-Series A Funding, Immediately Expands Services in Indonesia

Funding from Alpha JWC, Genesis Ventures and three undisclosed investors

Startups smart accommodations from Bandung, Bobobox, today (5/3), announced that it has received Pre-Series A funding from Alpha JWC Ventures, Genesia Ventures, and three undisclosed investors for an undisclosed amount. This funding will be used to expand services throughout Indonesia in the next two years.

Founded in 2017, Bobobox presents pods, a sleeping capsule, which offers the needs that make users calm and comfortable at an affordable cost. Pods is equipped with an application that is able to control access pintu, adjustable lights, security features, bluetooth speakers, to air conditioners.

Bobobox is presented as game changer which focuses on the millennial markettraveler who need affordable comfort and convenience. With the technology in pods, Bobobox also answers the need for affordable space, security, and accommodation for resting places.

"We aim to be biggest chain accommodations in Indonesia by 2020 with operations in more than 200 locations. The property is owned by or operated by Bobobox. We are now rolling out plans to build new sites around Jakarta, Bogor, Bali and Yogyakarta," explained Bobobox Co-Founder Antonius Bong.

Previously, Alpha JWC Ventures and Genesia Ventures were also involved in funding Bobobox in mid-2018. Bobobox is expected to continue to grow, especially in revolutionizing the industry. hospitality in Indonesia.

Bobobox co-founder Indra Gunawan explained that Bobobox started offering pods with single beds This year. Previously they only offered bed king size. Indra also explained that this year they will collaborate more, because it also opens up opportunities for franchise.

"We are also improving existing hotels. Unlike many hospitality SaaSs which only provide Branding, we help independent hotels by providing pods, systems, and even marketing. The pilot project has been successful and we are looking forward to expanding this model," said Indra.
