BerryKitchen Launches Ready-to-Cook Food Delivery Service
Startups Focusing on Fast Food Delivery Now Diversifying
Shortly after securing series-A funding, a ready-to-eat food delivery startup BerryKitchen officially announced the launch of its newest product, Ready-to-cook. Instead of delivering ready-to-eat food, BerryKitchen, which initially focused on online catering services, is now diversifying by shipping raw materials, seasonings and ready-to-cook recipes.
This service targets modern people who still value home-cooked food, but have limited time to shop for raw materials and seasonings. "We see that many Jakartans, especially young women, want to cook at home but have limited time to shop for ingredients, cut, measure the amount or wash the ingredients needed for cooking," said Cynthia Tenggara, Co-Founder. and CEO BerryKitchen. “Ready-To-Cook provides a cooking solution that is easy and fun to do in their own kitchen”
In the United States, a startup with this model, Blue Apron, has a valuation close to $2 billion. It is not surprising that local investors want the same thing in Indonesia. Especially remembering online catering business potential very promising, even players from neighboring countries started glance to enter.
Shortly after securing funding from Sovereign Capital two months ago, the DailySocial team visited BerryKitchen and chatted with CEO Cynthia Tenggara. Check out our conversation with Cynthia in the following DScussion series:
