Aruvana

The startup initiated by Indra last year focuses on creating and developing customized products based on Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) for all industries, especially in the fields of health, engineering and heavy equipment. education, e-commerce, and entertainment. Indra previously also founded a startup with the exact same focus named Arutala.

On December 5, 2022, the company announced a collaboration with PT Medika Brain Sejahtera for the development of a post-stroke therapy product named VINERA (Virtual Neuro Engineering and Restoration). VINERA's presence is expected to accelerate the expansion of post-stroke therapy solutions with VR technology.

VINERA is equipped with a gamification system so that patients can perform therapy exercises independently without professional assistance and repeat them in a more enjoyable way. Patients will carry out a series of task-oriented exercise scenarios wrapped in a game approach. Furthermore, the results of the exercise will be monitored by the therapist via remote regularly. Using VR technology, patient therapy can run more intensely and effectively than conventional therapy.

Quoting data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), stroke is the second highest cause of death in the world and the number one cause of death with the most expensive health financing in Indonesia. In 2018, the prevalence of stroke in Indonesia nationally has reached 10,9 per mile.

Special care for post-stroke patients can be an obstacle for patients when they are going to visit the hospital, plus the absence of a professional companion which can cause the independent therapy process to be missed at home. The presence of VINERA can help the recovery of stroke patients without being limited by time and place with a different approach to speed up the independent therapy process.

In its early stages, VINERA was designed to help recover stroke patients who have disabilities in their hands. In the future, VINERA will also be developed for various types of post-stroke patient care from mild to severe levels that are adjusted based on assessment from the patient's companion or therapist.

Previously, Aruvana had also implemented VR in a health teleconsultation application, the result of collaboration with the Hospital. Bhayangkara HS Samsoeri Mertojoso Surabaya which is intended to provide protection for women and children who are victims of violence.

It is hoped that the use of virtual space in consultations will facilitate the mechanism for handling cases of violence and sexual abuse against women and children by prioritizing the perspective of the victim. Reporters or victims can consult and report the events they experience in comfortable and conducive circumstances anonymously, without worrying about their privacy being compromised. This VR teleconsultation was also used by the East Java Police Police medical team to carry out the psychological examination process for female immoral video actors.
