Local Metaverse Platform "Jagat" Officially Launched

The local social interaction-based digital platform "Jagat.io" officially announced its presence, after going through the initial test phase since August 2022. The platform Jagat.io accessible via play.jagat.io, on the website and mobile application.

Jagat.io is the first visual world platform in Indonesia that is connected to a real city, namely the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN). In the application, users can use this application to hold meetings, gatherings, watch movies together, virtual concerts, show digital works, and other interactions immersively.

The inauguration was carried out by President Joko Widodo to coincide with Youth Pledge Day, in Jakarta (28/10).

Jagat Nusantara Founding Chairman Wishnutama Kusubandio said, the Jagat platform presents an open and inclusive technology ecosystem for all people. Jagat Nusantara is a social media platform, platform E-commerce future, as well as the sports and entertainment platform of the future.

“A web and mobile-based immersive social platform that connects users to the virtual world. We can say that this is the next generation of social media, the result of the hard work and collaboration of our young people," Wishnu said at the launch.

He continued, “We are preparing this platform to be the next real estate platform for IKN through land tokenization. Imagine if we can have virtual land that also represents real land ownership later in IKN.”

Meanwhile, Jagat Co-founder & CEO Barry Beagan said, everyone is free to express themselves on this platform. With the presence of an avatar, people can realize a personality that fits their aspirations or a like-like persona. This platform can be accessed for free.
