Alibaba Cloud Focuses on Bringing New Technology and Investing in Asia

Support retail and e-commerce businesses by providing affordable services

As one of the largest cloud computing service providers in Asia, Alibaba Cloud affirmed its commitment to focus on the Asian market. Founded in 2019, Alibaba Cloud has now established data center in 14 regions in Asia Pacific, including two data centers in Indonesia. Alibaba Cloud's commitment carried by tagline "In Asia For Asia" was emphasized by Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International President Selina Yuan at the Alibaba Cloud Summit in Singapore at the end of May 2019.

Besides wanting to invest more in Aisa, Alibaba Cloud also hopes to expand collaboration with partners to increase the number of customers. One of the efforts made is to launch a better service support campaign, which is designed for SMEs. The main advantages of this improved service and support include direct and personal pre-sales consultation, 24/7 technical service, additional free technical services and faster after-sales assistance.

Support service E-commerce and retail

One of the achievements claimed by the company is being able to boost service sales e-commerce, some of which are realized in the 11.11 and 12.12 Shopping Festival activities. In this case Alibaba Cloud supports 1,3 billion visits that affect sales. By advancing technology artificial intelligence (AI) it claims to be able to support 350 million conversations, 1 billion language translations and 45,3 billion product recommendations within 24 hours shopping festivals took place in November 2018.

Alibaba Cloud specifically provides cloud computing and intelligence data ranging from services E-commerce, logistics, payments to entertainment and travel for all business units utilizing the ecosystem available on Alibaba.

Other technologies and innovations that are also presented by Alibaba Cloud are the concept Shoppertainment which has previously been applied by Lazada Indonesia, by combining entertainment that is broadcast LIVE through television. Lazada developed a Shoppertainment concept that combines Shopping and entertainment simultaneously through live capabilities streaming inside the app (in-app). This concept has been used by Alibaba through Tmall during the Single's Day event in 2016 and Taobao.

In addition to Shoppertainment, Lazada has also launched an Image Search feature to personalization for users whose all technology is done automatically real-time. The concept is similar to the scenario "matchmaking" in a short time, Lazada can provide product recommendations based on user choices. The Image Search feature itself was deliberately presented by Lazada, after conducting a survey. From these results it was revealed, now many users are looking for recommendations based on images or photos instead of having to type keyword through the application.

Launched 10 new products and features

To make it easier for clients, Alibaba Cloud launched more than 10 new products and features at the Alibaba Cloud Summit in Singapore. These new products and features were previously available in China and for the first time accessible to businesses in Asia Pacific who want to implement an “All in Cloud” strategy. Although it is already available in all countries, Alibaba Cloud specifically emphasized that the new feature will only be implemented if the client or user requires it. Gradually, all of these features will be available in all regions in Asia, including of course Indonesia.

Some of the new features include PolarDB, Alibaba Log Service (SLS), “Bring Your Own Key” (BYOK) Support, Smart Access Gateway (SAG) Software, Container Registry (ACR) Enterprise Edition, Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK). ) and SaaS Accelerator. For SaaS Accelerator is a new accelerator program that connects technology partners with the Alibaba ecosystem.

The concept is a platform that enables technology partners to easily build and launch SaaS applications and improve the way Alibaba operates businesses and proven technologies.

This accelerator also helps SaaS providers to rapidly deploy and test their applications on the cloud, shortening implementation life cycle, and accelerate time-to-market. This technology also enables ecosystem partners such as companies E-commerce, lodging, and travel industries, to quickly reach their customers within the Alibaba platform. This technology also defines the three centers of the SaaS ecosystem, a commercial center, a capability center, and a technology center.
