Aigis Presents Insurtech B2B Platform, Equipped with Wellness Features

The story of Co-Founder & CEO Aigis Reinhart Hermanus about the business concept to the future target

Insurance is a sector that startups in Indonesia are starting to target. The pandemic has also given awareness more deeply in the community about the importance of health and the need to have insurance.

Seeing this opportunity, the insurtech platform Aigis which has just received initial funding 14,5 billion Rupiah, interested in working on the platform insurtech for business. Namely through insurance management services combined with features wellness to telehealth.

To DailySocial.id, Aigis Co-Founder & CEO Reinhart Hermanus revealed, launching in mid-2021, Aigis started as a marketplace insurance agent for the general public. But seeing the current opportunities and potential, they then do pivot by directly targeting the B2B segment.

"We are positioning the platform as end-to-end employee wellness provider. Not only offering insurance products but also consulting options Dedicated doctors for every company to sports or wellness programs for employees," said Reinhart.

Added by him, Aigis also wants to change mindset negative about insurance among the public which only serves to claim health costs only. So if this option is not used, it will be detrimental to the user. With options like wellness and healthcare, is expected to provide companies with more options for their employees.

"We see this being win-win solution. Not only for employees, but also for companies and insurance companies. Currently, we have established partnerships with insurance brokers who have relationships with more than 10 insurance companies," said Reinhart.

The monetization strategy launched by Aigis is to get commissions from insurance. While for the program healthcare such as direct consultations with doctors, are currently still provided free of charge to companies interested in using their services. Companies can also determine for themselves what insurance package is ideal for each company, all of which can be customized.

According to Reinhart, the concept is expected to attract companies that are currently seeking or extending insurance for their employees, or new companies that do not yet have an insurance package for employees.

The potential of the insurance platform and wellness

Aigis was founded by Reinhart Hermanus, Philip Moniaga, and Sebastian Yaphy. They see access to health services as a basic need for everyone, and they still see that the experience of health insurance in Indonesia is far from ideal.

Additional products such as programs wellness considered quite effective at this time, to provide different and fresher options to the company. Judging from the trends and potential in the future, such options will be increasingly sought after by companies.

After getting funding initial round, Aigis still has a target to achieve. Among them are increasing their sales and adding to the team engineer to develop their technology. Currently still running a business read, not many teams have been recruited by the company.
