Viddsee's Efforts to Maximize the Indonesian Market

Forming a community with subtitles

Viddsee claims to get a pretty good response in Indonesia. As one of the largest countries in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is included in Vidsee's four main markets along with Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines with a third of the total audience.

Indonesia itself is still the second market for Viddsee, because of the problem of fast internet that has not been evenly distributed to all regions. Despite the high use of mobile devices and social media, fast internet access is still an obstacle when compared to other countries. However, Indonesia has great potential to become Viddsee's largest user base.

"What we have learned is that Indonesians make strategic choices for their online video consumption and entertainment savvy. And after they have user experience  satisfactory, they become a trusted community, engaged, and loyal. We see this in the way they engage socially, in the way they do commits with entertainment content on our platform, and how we develop the Viddsee community both online and offline," said Viddsee CEO Ho Jia Jian.

One part of Viddsee's strategy is to build community, both globally and in Indonesia. Viddsee itself hopes to be able to maintain authentic relationships and continue to grow sustainably.

In Indonesia Viddsee strives to adapt to the local market. Viddsee's efforts include collaborating with local partners to develop the filmmaking community, such as collaborating with the Indonesian Film Agency to promote Indonesian films to an international audience.

In terms of content, Viddsee strives to present content that is in accordance with the user experience in Indonesia, such as providing Indonesian translations for foreign films.

"We're expanding our content offering by identifying key pieces of content that will be more accessible with subtitle Indonesian, community-supported subtitle our global. This is an initiative and activity at the product and community level," said Jia Jan.

Viddsee Indonesia viewers account for a third of the total Viddsee audience with a user demographic of 60% in the 18-24 year age range and 30% in the 25-34 year age range. Viddsee also continues to pursue growth by evolving from a curation platform to a creation platform.

"Content creation is an area that shows a real opportunity for continued growth, as Viddsee Studios in Singapore has demonstrated which has created 49 original content in the first eight months of its establishment in November 2017 with a very lean team. We are expanding our content offering by identifying sections main content that will be more accessible with subtitle Indonesian, supported by the community subtitle our global," said Jia Jian.
