Safar Introduces Umrah Travel Marketplace Application

PT Safar Anugerah Indonesia (Safar) inaugurated an online marketplace application for Umrah travel called Safar. This application was developed to make it easier for users to find Umrah travel packages. The launch of this application is thanks to a collaboration with one of the Telkom Group's subsidiaries, PT Metranet.

As stated by Digital Consumer Director of PT Metranet Setyo Budianto, his party sees Safar has high potential to develop. In this partnership Mitranet will act as a partner for the development of marketing strategies and product dissemination to potential partners and consumers.

"We are optimistic through the platform digital advertising our mainstay, the distribution of Safar digital advertisements can target the right target audience according to Safar's profile," explained Setyo.

As a service marketplace Umrah, Safar emphasizes two things, namely easy and safe. Two things are important because it concerns customer trust.

"Easy, that is, users can search for Umrah trips through easy steps and a simple and fast purchase process. Safe, where funds from the congregation will be stored safely in joint accounts and can only be disbursed when the travel partner has completed his responsibilities to the congregation," said Safar CEO Andang Sentanu.

Safar's commitment is to provide experience and added value for prospective Umrah pilgrims. There are three services offered, namely an online marketplace that provides various kinds of Umrah travel agencies, travel management system which manages data on the availability of Umrah packages, and travel assistance which is an assistance during the Umrah journey.

"As a liaison between Umrah travel partners and the public, we want to continue to maintain service quality and control so that it really brings added value in terms of convenience and security for Umrah enthusiasts. Moreover, Umrah is a religious journey where we want Safar users to be able to focus on worship without think about technical matters during the journey. That's why we have three phases of mentoring and monitoring during umrah," added Andang.

As a form of service to customers, Safar will help from the preparation process to arrival. In the preparation phase, Safar and the selected Umrah travel partner will record the completeness of the congregation's files such as tickets, passports, visas, vaccinations and others. Furthermore, in the departure phase, the congregation can take advantage of the application Safar to monitor the distance of mosques, inns, and shopping places. Finally, during the arrival phase, Safar will help provide documentation options, memorabilia, and even travel alumni records to maintain the relationship.

To display quality travel partners in its system Safar does screening methods internally, starting from checking data at the Ministry of Religion, determining candidates, and direct approaches to potential partners.

So far, Safar already has 11 travel partners and targets 50 travel partners throughout Indonesia. From a business perspective, this service has a similar business model to Go Umrah.

"We recognize that this industry places a high priority on trust. As a middle man we need to maintain the trust of the congregation and travel partners. Therefore, our current focus is to establish personal communication with potential travel partners and the public about our services. In the future Safar will hold roadshow to other cities, both in an effort to establish cooperative relationships with prospective travel partners, and at the same time to introduce Safar directly to the market and prospective pilgrims," ​​concluded Andang.
