Awanio Launches as PaaS, Help Developers Manage Server Infrastructure

Still operating on a limited basis with data centers in Jakarta and Hamburg

Cloud computing is the "cement and brick for many digital products today. Of the three types of cloud computing products, platform as a service (PaaS) can be called the least talked about or targeted by startup activists.

At least Iskandar Soesman, Co-founder & CEO believes that Awanio. Awanio is one of the few PaaS startups in the country. He believes that currently global players such as Heroku, Nanobox, Engine Yard, or Nodechef still dominate the PaaS market.

"And because not many people have entered this segment locally, we see this as a great opportunity that can be taken by Awanio," said Iskandar to DailySocial.

Needs cloud computing services which continues to increase in Indonesia according to Iskandar has not been followed by supply a software engineer and systems engineer adequate. This factor is then considered as an additional opportunity for PaaS players like Awanio to make a fortune.

Focus on developer

The mission of Iskandar and his friends at Awanio is to make the work of developer. This is based on the workload of the developer in pursuing and mastering various infrastructure technologies that are operational in nature but at the same time must carefully manage their applications.

As a result of this, developers have to race against various challenges ranging from: server setup, database server setup, to scale up application. "Operational work like this, sometimes not all developer mempunyai skill to do it. As a result there will be a lot of time wasted just doing these preparations."

Through its products, Awanio tries to take over these operational tasks. In simpler terms, the Awanio service allows users to developer just enter queues them into repository code like on Github, Gitlab, or Awanio itself.

business model

Not much different from other cloud computing-based businesses, Awanio applies a business model pay as you go and subscription system. The first method allows customers to use Cloudio resources calculated based on CPU, RAM, storageand network.

In addition to the infrastructure they manage themselves, the Awanio system will also run on leading cloud service providers such as Google Cloud or Amazon Web Services (AWS). According to Iskandar, developers still often have difficulty mastering the technical aspects of infrastructure cloud. He hoped that Awanio would be his bridge.

More Coverage:

Awanio's products target several layers of consumers, namely: developer who work individually, startups that do not have a team to manage application infrastructure, and corporations that already have infrastructure but need a system to manage it. Iskandar said that Awanio is currently still operating with its own funds and serving on a limited basis because it is still in the phase minimum viable product (MVP). Even so, Awanio currently has 174 users spread across Indonesia and Europe.

"So for now we have two region namely Indonesia which data centerIt's in Jakarta and the European Union region which is data centerIt's in Hamburg," concluded Iskandar.
