Otten Coffee Receives Series A Funding from East Ventures

Coffee specialty e-commerce service Otten Coffee The Medan-based company announced the acquisition of Series A funding from East Ventures. Founded by Robin Boe and Jhoni Kusno, this funding will be used to help Otten Coffee increase product selection and add value to its services, including encouraging positioning this service in the Indonesian coffee market.

The founders of Otten Coffee are not new to the business and have years of experience sourcing coffee beans to serving them as beverages. They see the current market is not just this app, but has penetrated into the "how to make".

This is what prompted the establishment of Otten Coffee as a business offline in 2012 and opened its e-commerce wing in 2014. Otten Coffee sells various devices related to coffee making, from coffee beans, coffee machines All espresso brewing methods, grinder, brew, to equipment barista throughout Indonesia. The site also provides articles about local coffee shops and interesting things about coffee.

Otten Coffee itself has opened a branch office in Jimbaran, Bali, and plans to open another office in Jakarta.

Co-Founder of Otten Coffee Robin Boe in a press release said, "People are willing to explore more about coffee-making techniques, which is not easy because it requires knowledge of various devices and tools to make a good cup of coffee. This encourages us to educate Indonesians about the industry. We want them to know about different types of coffee beans and different methods of brewing. We see the potential, because our people have coffee consumption per capita of 0,96 kg/year in 2012."
