Ministry of Health Announces Results of "Regulatory Sandbox" on 14 Healthtech Platforms

A total of 6 platforms received "Conditionally Recommended" status and 8 received "Improvement" status

The Ministry of Health through the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) unit announced that 14 health service platforms had passed the Regulatory Sandbox trial.

"Previously there were 15, but 1 [platform] will close at the end of this year," said Setiaji, Chief DTO of the Ministry of Health when opening the press conference "Providing Recommendations for the Regulatory Sandbox Program", Thursday (21/12).

Setiaji said, these 14 platforms have gone through various processes, starting from live testing, simulations, to administrative checks. The test results are divided into three status categories, namely "Recommended", "Conditionally Recommended", and "Improvement".

"However, none of them passed the 'Recommended' category, only passed conditionally and needed improvement," added Setiaji. The following is a list of 14 platforms that have gone through trials:

It was also conveyed that the 6 platforms with Conditionally Recommended status will be given 3 months from today to make adjustments to their services. They also have the right to use the Ministry of Health logo with the status "Provided by the Ministry of Health", which means that people no longer need to hesitate to access health services via this platform.

Meanwhile, the 8 platforms with Repair status are given 6 months from today to make improvements to their services. They have the right to use the Ministry of Health logo with the status "Supervised by the Ministry of Health", which means this status will be revoked if there are no changes during the given time period.

In carrying out testing sandbox Currently, the Ministry of Health uses six test aspects consisting of:

  1. Functionality; test whether the feature can run well.
  2. Security; includes security practices for data protection.
  3. Data privacy; covers the security of personal data to medical data.
  4. Cluster specific test; governance regarding certain features, such as telemedicine, prescribing, and delivery of medical information.
  5. Inclusivity; test whether the innovation is inclusive, not only from the technological side (bandwidth for service access), features for disabilities.
  6. Integration; platform and application capabilities to integrate with Satu Sehat.

Setiaji revealed that most of these platforms received minor notes regarding aspects of inclusivity for people with disabilities. For example, does the app have features text-to-voice or a feature to increase screen color contrast for the blind.

Contacted separately, Setiaji revealed that there were still 17 more clusters being tested sandbox-it will open next year. For example, industrial and innovation clusters. "In general, the testing aspect remains the same, it will be adjusted to the solution in the cluster," he said in a short message to DailySocial.id.
