How to Register for BPJS Health Online and Independently, Complete

Through BPJS Health, participants can access various medical services ranging from primary health care at community health centers to specialist services at hospitals.

BPJS Health is a national health insurance program in Indonesia, managed by the Social Security Administering Body. This program is designed as a means to ensure that all Indonesian residents, both citizens and foreign residents living in Indonesia, have access to quality health services.

BPJS Health is a national health insurance program in Indonesia which is managed by the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS). 

This program aims to provide health protection for the entire population of Indonesia, both as recipients of contribution assistance (PBI) and independent participants. The following is a more detailed explanation regarding BPJS Health:

Requirements for registering with BPJS Health 

  • Family Card (KK) 
  • Identity Card (KTP) 
  • NPWP 
  • Mobile phone number 
  • Savings Account Book (BNI, BRI or Mandiri) 
  • Maximum photo size is 50KB 
  • Active e-mail address 

How to register for BPJS Health online 

  • Download the Mobile JKN application on your cellphone. 
  • Open the application, select the 'Register' menu. 
  • Select 'New Participant Registration' if you have not registered with BPJS at all. 
  • Agree to the terms and conditions listed. 
  • Enter your e-KTP NIK. 
  • After entering your NIK, information about family members will automatically appear. 
  • Fill in all your family data that you want to enter. 
  • Select the desired health facility location. Health facilities can be clinics, community health centers, or private practice doctors. 
  • Enter your active email address to get a verification code. 
  • Open the email, copy the verification code that has been sent. 
  • After successfully entering the verification code in the Mobile JKN application, you will get a virtual account number via email. 
  • This virtual account number is used to make payments for BPJS Health contributions. 
  • Payments can be made via mobile banking, ATM, post office, or at various BPJS merchants such as minimarkets and supermarkets.

BPJS Health Contribution Fees

To apply for independent BPJS Health, you will be included in the Non-Wage Recipient Workers (PBPU) and Non-Workers Community Group (BP) participant groups.

BPJS Health has three classes with different contribution amounts. This choice will influence the type of treatment room service according to each class. 

Contributions for independent participants are divided into classes I, II and III, the fees for which are as follows:

  • Class 1: IDR 150.000/person per month
  • Class 2: IDR 100.000/person per month
  • Class 3: IDR 35.000/person per month

How to Register for BPJS Health through the Office

If you are having problems connecting online, you can also register by visiting the nearest BPJS Health Branch Office. Here's how:

  • Bring a photocopy of your KTP, a photocopy of your family card and a recent photo measuring 3 X 4 (1 sheet).
  • Visit the nearest BPJS Health Office in your city.
  • Take the queue number at pintu come in or ask the officer on guard.   
  • You will be asked to fill out a registration form. Fill it out then submit it to the officer along with other requirements. 
  • You will be given a virtual account number that you will use to pay according to the selected class.
  • Contribution payments can be made at teller counters, ATMs, mobile banking or internet banking.
  • Submit proof of transfer to the BPJS Health office officer.
  • Wait for your BPJS Health card to be printed.
  • After receiving the card, check your card number again on the official BPJS Health website to ensure it is registered
