Krom Bank Appoints Banker Anton Hermawan as President Director

PT Krom Bank Indonesia Tbk (BBSI), previously known as International Business Bank, officially appointed Anton Hermawan as President Director. This decision was approved at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which was held on February 21 2024.

In an official statement, Krom Bank President Director Anton Hermawan said, "I feel honored by the trust given by shareholders to lead Krom which will officially launch digital banking services. I am confident that Krom is able to compete in the digital banking industry, thanks to its differentiation and service excellence , as well as support from Kredivo A group that already has a solid ecosystem."

Anton has more than 27 years of experience in the banking industry. Before joining Krom, Anton served as Consumer Banking Director at Bank KEB Hana Indonesia. Then in 2018-2021, he served as EVP Digital Business Development at CIMB Niaga and held other senior positions at Bank Sinarmas and Bank Permata. His initial career began at BCA.

Before Anton joined, the position of President Director of Krom Bank was occupied by Laniwati Tjandra. Laniwati had served in this position before Krom was taken over by Kredivo Group, through PT FinAccel Teknologi Indonesia in March 2022.

FinAccel bought Bank Bisnis shares in stages, with a 40% stake in 2021, then in March-April 2022 added 35% ownership until it finally became the controlling shareholder.

Krom has not immediately made it official to the public since rebranding announced. The new site can be accessed in October 2022, provided that banking products are not yet available.

As time went by, with the new brand, Krom began to open business collaborations with Kredivo and KrediFazz for loan channeling schemes. These three companies are part of Kredivo Group. Krom's focus is to work on digital banking services for retail customers, in line with sister companieswhich plays in the retail segment.

Currently the Chrome application can be accessed on Google Play and the App Store. The company offers time deposits with interest of up to 8,75% per year, regular savings with interest of 6% per year, free transfers and top ups up to 30 times a month, and makes it easy for customers to allocate up to 40 savings adjusted to their financial goals.

Not only that, the application also offers easy bill payments and credit top ups. The public inauguration of Krom Bank will be held next week, Tuesday (27/2).
